Hi all,

The next owners meeting was set for Friday 19th September.  Does anyone know the time and location for this meeting?

Thanks
Michelle

Hi

We won't be able to make the meeting but once again could I PLEASE ask all owners to put the felt protectors on the bottom of all your furniture.  These are very cheap to buy and will result not only in your floors being protected, but also your neighbours having a good night's sleep.  Noise seems to travel a long way in these apartments.  I wonder what damage has been done to the apartments above us with the amount of things that have been scraped across the floors!

Other than reading about this proposed meeting on this forum, and  hearing about it this week when talking to residents around the pool area, I have had no communication about this meeting.

Is it an official, AEA approved meeting?

If it is, why has there not been an email from AEA informing all residents about the meeting.  All residents should be told by AEA - our official community company. Together with an agenda, and any proposals and resolutions expected.  Where and when would be useful to know as well !!!

If it is not, why have it, or is it just going to be yet  another talking shop for owners. (I have heard from many owners attending  the AGM complaining that the meeting was hijacked by a small handful of residents with their own personal complaints.)

and if it is not official,  and ALL residents not been informed of the meeting, giving them a reasonable chance to attend, then any decisions this meeting takes,  cannot and should not be enforced.

(yes, I know a small unrepresentative sub-committee was set up at the AGM, and yes, a mention of a suggested  meeting in september was made. - that is simply not good enough notice of a potentially decision making meeting)

Chas,

In the community minutes of the A.G.M. held 27th March page 16 reads

"Therefore, those present agreed to hold an Extraordinary Meeting, and Mrs
Rodríguez said that as it was such a big community it would be a good idea to hold the
meeting during the summer as there would be more people present to deal with the matters
that have arisen, and she proposed a date be set. One of the owners suggested that it be held
at the end of the summer, and it was agreed that the Extraordinary General Meeting be held
on 19 September, which is a Friday."

So this gave plenty of notice but not enough for me though as I plan my visits much more than 6 months ahead.

I'd like to know when the meeting after that one is going to be held so I can plan but I'm guessing I won't know until it's too late.

Once the community organisation  settles down it would be helpful to stick to a regular meeting date such as the second Wednesday in September or something.

Maybe that point can be raised this time.

Do we need to  start an new agenda page agoing to catch everyone's input?

Paul

Horizontal law dictates the notice time of a meeting (from memory I think it is 3 weeks), I did not attend the last AGM and cannot attend the EGM as I book 6 months in advance to get lower air fares.

I was co-opted onto the sub committee and we are not a small unrepresentative group. I have 5 years experience as president in my current community and have a flat at DV as well.

I have had meetings with AEA and Gerardo the president lasting in excess of 2 hours and like others give up my holiday time and other time to get things fixed for the community as a whole.

At the EGM agree the the meeting dates for the next year in advance.

I agree my AGM a year in advance at the previous AGM.

All,

I've started a page here to collect proposed agenda  items for the Sept AGM.
We should target to get this list completed quickly.

I will let AEA know that a list is coming their way and                         establish the deadline for submission.

regards,
Paul

Hi, a few items for the agenda:

1. The area over the wall by the basuras at the bottome of the site apprears to be a dumping ground for garden waste and numerous black bags - Why? Also is the wall going to be continued to the paddle courts at some point?

2. The new pathway by the bottom pool is poorly laid and cracked, can this be redone?

3. Paint touch ups / unoccuppied flower beds with weeds - looks unsightly

4. Lifts are reguarly not working - it was every other day when i was there this week and last

5. Sunbeds, stricter policy on people reserving them - a delivery of beds has helped but its still not great

6. Non owners/renters playing paddle tennis - happened several times i suspect when i was there, they are probably friends of the security guards

7. Security - when i was there, the barrier was always up and no one was stopped that i saw

8. Road up to DV - any news on if this is going to be tarmaced?

re your list:-

1. The area over the wall by the basuras at the bottome of the site appears to be a dumping ground for garden waste and numerous black bags - Why?   - Added to proposed Agenda

Also is the wall going to be continued to the paddle courts at some point?  also added to Community Snagging List.

2. The new pathway by the bottom pool is poorly laid and cracked, can this be redone?  added to Community Snagging List.

3. Paint touch ups / unoccuppied flower beds with weeds - looks unsightly    Paiting already on Snag List.  Also See AGM item 1.

4. Lifts are reguarly not working - it was every other day when i was there this week and last.    Added to proposed Agenda

5. Sunbeds, stricter policy on people reserving them - a delivery of beds has helped but its still not great    Added to proposed Agenda

6. Non owners/renters playing paddle tennis - happened several times i suspect when i was there, they are probably friends of the security guards  Added to proposed Agenda.  Plus seconded by me.   On two holidays I've had the same experience - both on a Saturday - most infuriating.

7. Security - when i was there, the barrier was always up and no one was stopped that i saw  Added to proposed Agenda

8. Road up to DV - any news on if this is going to be tarmaced?    I read something in the local paper about this.  The Mayors is planning to do this  work early.  We could get AEA to ask or we one of use could ask directly (cheaper).

Excuse my para-phrasing - please feel free to amend.

Anyone care to second any items?

The list is very comprehensive and covers the points I feel need to be addressed. I shall be out for the meeting and hope to put a few more faces to names.
Have just come back from a great week in DV.
Little story of what people are like !!
We took my 80 year old Mum for a visit, for 80 she is fairly active. But sun a bit hot, sun beds had been occupied by towels for well over an hour under one of the shades. I pushed one bed back about 3 feet so my mum could get a bit of shade. About 3/4 of an hour later(remember now around 2 hours since towels on bed) a most irate person arrived and wanted to know why the bed had been moved (not taken as towels still on them!) I pointed out that no one had been there for a while and showed them the sign. Wait for it - I was told that the sign says only the Pool attendant can take action, so I had no right to move a bed !!!!!
They were fairly young and laid all afternoon in the sun, so not essential to have shade.
Bit of a boring story, but points out - people are !!!!, whatever is written will be taken literaly.

But great week and look forward to getting back.

Dave

Hi Dave

We'd be waiting a long time for the pool attendant to remove the towels around the block 10 pool because there isn't one and I thought it was mentioned on a different occasion that the pool attendant wasn't responsible for removing towels.  Perhaps the signs need to be re-done, or maybe the wording needs to be different for the pools with no attendants.

Maybe we can ask AEA to put amended notices up by the pools, basically saying "Personal belongings left by the pool and/or on sunbeds are left at the owners risk" along with "reserving sunbeds by placing towels or any other pesonal belongings on them, or in any other way, is strictly prohibited".   That just about covers it!   Maybe this can be requested at the meeting, if not before.
