Hi Shani

We are in a similar position - waiting for LPO - on our property which we should have completed on on 31 March 2008.  No sign of LPO yet and it was applied for on 31 March 2008.  There is no way of getting it earlier, we just have to wait for the Town Hall to issue it.  I think anyone who gives you a date for its issue is just guessing so don't get your hopes up.  The bungalows and penthouses on the first phase of phase one have only recently - May 08 - got their licence and some people completed on them in Jan 07, I think.

Patience is a virtue, or so they tell us!

We are on Manzana 3 & picked our LFO (Licencia de 1a Ocupacion) up from the Taray offices last week. It is dated 21/05/08. We are on mains electric etc now & last week they put the houses in Manzana 4 on mains as they installed the meters so it looks like they are moving on quite quickly through the site.

The site is looking really good.

There are also loads more bins now (including recycling for paper/ cardboard & bottles) & these are emptied every night

They are also getting on well with the building in Phase 2 now (opposite the municipal pool).

The weather has been fantastic & everyone you see is so happy on site & in the village. Much better than dreary old England !!

Sue

Hi Sue and David

Yes great isn't it and everyone is so helpful and friendly.  We were also lucky enough to be there for the San Cayetano Festival beg of August, firework display was brilliant and lots happening over the festival fortnight.

We must have been there at the same time as you were in May, sorry we missed you (I've sent and received a couple of e-mails to and from you in the past although we never managed to be there at the same time).

Pauline

Hi All
How nice to see a more positive thread, If we hadn't already purchased I think we would be worrying whether we had done the right thing buying at San Cayetano, but I know we have. Our Lfo is ready to pick up next time we go out. Very reassuring that this is a legal build & that our property was ready on time. If you go on a lot of the other sites in the Murcia area you will see that on many they haven't started to build yet despite taking deposits from people in 2005 & 2006.
I have spoken with Taray head office & they tell me that if the council haven't started to build the pool & facilities by November that they will then build them near to the current sales office & will take around 4 months to erect. The council will also build the pool on the existing site so maybe we will end up with two ! We were told it would be September 2008 before the pool would be built anyway so good to hear that we will have one in 6 months time ready for next year. They tell me that there will be a letter to pick up about this when I pick up the Lfo
Pauline & Peter - What dates is the Sn Cayetano fiesta ?  would be good to be able to go next year - sounds like fun
Sue - good to hear that there are more bins & more recycling which is good.

Hi, Sue

Thanks for posting the news about the extra bins for recycling.  Are they at different points around the development?  Where have they put them?  Are they in the car parks or on the road?

I glad that there are more bins around as the little ones on the 'green' area near the children's playground were overflowing when I was last out in June.

Are there any bins for dog waste?  When I was in Italy this summer (Palermo, Sicily) there were lots of bins for dog waste and there was even a supply of bags for those owners caught without!  Maybe that's something the future committee of owners might consider if they are not already provided.

Thanks again.

Diane

Hi Diane

The recycling bins are all around the development now, at the side of the roads. Most of the car parks are gated so I assume this is why they are on the side of the road plus easier for the binmen to empty each night.

I am not sure how often the recycling bins are emptied, the bin men appear to empty the normal bins around 1.30 / 2o/c most nights (except Sundays - I think).

People seem to be getting better at pulling the lids over when they have deposited their rubbish as well, because if they don't they do smell as it is so hot - not pleasant for the people that live near to them.

I haven't seen any bins for dog mess, but must admit I haven't particularly been looking so someone on site might be able to answer that one.

Sue

there may well be more bins and even some re cycling ones but it also appears that people are not well versed in the use of them

we still have people using the litter bins for domestic rubbish and piling dirty nappies and waste cables, cardboard boxes and all sorts on the ground close to them,

still we have litter all over and the amount of dog shite increases on a daily basis

i believe that the large yellow wheelie bins are for recycling (containers) but it appears that very few people use them for anything else other than rubbish

still people are unable to register that fag butts are rubbish and so is chewing gum

a little bit of civic mindedness would go a long way and have the place looking like somewhere someone might want to live

come on people, have a bit of pride in your surroundings
