Just a thought - has anybody bought one of those small safes you get in a hotel room? The type that fits in the bottom of a wardrobe. If so where did you get it and do they deliver?

Hi
When I was last out I saw safes in the DIY shops I think they cost about 50 euros and up depending what you want, I got one from www.screwfix.com to take out with me when I drive over next March they cost from £25
Don’t know about having it fitted but I am sure one of the handymen who have been offering services on the forum would be able to oblige if needed?
Regards
Phil

Hi folks.
Me and Mrs Welshwizard were on site a few weeks ago to sort out furniture, white goods, etc.
I thought the small 'hotel' safe was a great idea.
We bought ours from Torregrossa, Torrevieja (a bit like John Lewis department store).
We bought a digital one that each visitor can program with their own code and has a mechanical key as an over ride if needed.
Cost about 70 Euros and they fitted it to the wardrobe in double bedroom free of charge.
The guy in the shop said the fitters use 12 inch steel bolts drilled through the floor of the wardrobe and into the concrete of the bedroom floor!
Had to convince Mrs WW I wasn't being over cautious with the security thing, but she got her posh dishwasher, so gave in.
Hope this helps.
WW

Hi Mr & Mrs Welshwizard,
Is your apartment on the ground floor? as I am not sure if upstairs apartments would have concrete floors or 12 inches ? But I am no builder so who knows.

we got a medium size safe from B&Q, cost 35 pounds. Fitting it ourselves when we take the furniture over end November. They also sell them in Makro for about the same price, but then you have to remember to add the V A T on top

Just to confirm 'Jackie's' earlier add-on, we were in Condado last week and went to BRICO HOUSE store on the CAMPOSOL site only 5-10 minutes drive away - they have a shelf full of different safes - all sizes/various prices, but not too expensive - suggest you try them out before you travel too far as they are easiest to get to and look at - hope it helps - c ya

When you exit Condado and go onto RM23 turn left at main roundabout towards MAZARRON - the RM 23 'flows' straight into the RM3 and CAMPOSOL (big) resort is only about 5 km along road with direct access of the main road - there are "hundreds" of houses/apartments on Camposol BUT also a couple of large shops and lots of bars & restaurants + English Fish & Chip shop in central area - check it out
