Hi - we are new to DV.  We are going to be in the apartment from 24 October through to 3 November and I was wondering if anyone is a keen tennis player and might fancy a game?!  Happy to play singles or join in a doubles match.

On slightly different note, can anyone let me know what the procedure is for booking courts (how many are there and where are they?!)?

Thanks very much

Peter

Peter,

The pdadel tennis court is free most of the time.  I used it for a couple of sessions two weeks ago and it's in good condition.

It was my first stay where I did not see it being used by drive in/drive out weekend users.  So hopefully that problem has gone away.

for real tennis (which my partner and I prefer)  you can book a court at the 5*  Duquesa Golf Hotel but I don't recall what their rates are.

Paul

Hi Forest

No, outsiders are not, officially, allowed to use the paddle tennis court in DV.

It's different if you are invited by an owner/tenant to use the court WITH that owner/tenant.  But if the security allowed people just to turn up and use the court and then leave, I for one would like to see that security company lose their contract!!  We have had problems with people doing just that in the past and it's not acceptable really.  The owners pay for that facility.

But, as has been mentioned in this thread, you can hire a court at the Duquesa Hotel just down the road.

Hi, thanks for responses - I had meant could your court be hired as way of recouping costs.

The gardeners have still not pruned the tree by the court and leaves will be a problem once again later in the year.

This was on previous agenda's for action. so can it be chased up.

Micheal,

Good idea.

It is best played as doubles.  We  expect to be over 9th May for a week if anyone there to play against?

I could bring my pruning saw and do the tree at the sametime.

Paul

I wonder should the community perhaps supply Paddels for hire - perhaps obtained from the security gate?

They're fairly expensive to buy - mine cost about 30 euros each.  Just a thought.
