Property Tax

Hi

I have been lazy and not sorted my property tax for 2007, my solicitor sorted last years 2006 tax , they are offering to do this years.

I was wondering if anyone has done their tax return themselves and if so could they give some pointers.

I have just done mine online and printed off the forms to pay at the bank when i go next week. It is easy , you use the same form 214 to pay Renta and Wealth tax. For tax year 2008 there will be no wealth tax but that is not due until next year. You need your catasral vlaue to calculate your renta tax.

Hope you and Dennis are both well....How is CR? 

The tax year is jan 2008-dec 2008 so you will only owe renta tax from Feb 08 to Dec 08 as wealth tax has been abolished from 2008.  You don't pay it until 2009 and I pay my taxes in the Nov of the following year. So for 2008 taxes I will pay them in Nov 2009...the same as you need to do.

The form is a 214 and can be found at www.aeat.es

You can buy the forms at the Tax office in San Roque just down towards Gibraltar, they cost 50 cents per pack, you use 1 pack per owner, joint owners 2 packs etc. and you can get the NIE stickers there for free.

It takes about 10 minutes to fill in the form and then take to your bank.
