Back after a tiring but successful 3 days at Condado. We has hoped to cmplete but in the absence of the COH, we gave our solicitor PoA  - COH is imminent so we should get our keys shortly.

Met up with Carol and her kids and sorted key holding etc services. She's a godsend.

Other than that, we spent most of the time shopping (boy was that fun!) as well as hanging around for 2 and a half hours waiting for the Notary to come in, ask a couple of questions, sign the relevant docs and depart - all within two minutes!! (I knew I was in the wrong job.)

Lots of previous contributors provided us with helpful info on wher to get interior and exterior furniture, electrical goods, bedding etc., lighting and snagging services. We thank you all - couldn't have done it without you all. Drinks are on us - when we meet up.

Happy to share any advice on where to get what with any newcomers,

Peter & Fiona

Glad to see you had a good time.  Pity you missed your naional side down at Cartagena Rugby Club.

Did you find out anything about what's happining with the space between Jardin 7 & 8?   Or anything else come to that.

I know we are there soon and will find out for ourselves but just wondered what sort of info you got

Hi Cuz,

If the area you are talking about is behind where the club house is going to be on the opposite side of the road, I am sure the girl told us it is possibly where the hotel could be situated but in the same breath mentioned sports complex.  Would make sense,  hotel and clubhouse next to one another but who really knows???

Hi Ali,

The area I mean is where the original Naranjos town centre was going to be?  Can't even remember what it was called now.

I can't remember what we were told about a hotel either, senior moments getting the better  of me at the moment, but I remember we were told that apart from sports areas at the clubhouse, there would be a sports complex, town hall, fire station etc etc outside the complex, over the road from us. That would be for the local community as well as us.

Like you say, who knows?  I think we're all baffling each other with all the different info we come back with.  Not too long ago Jardines wern't getting a town centre because of the Foro being built, now, we have two versions of what's happening in the original town centre space there.   One  says football pitches etc. the other says town center.

One week today, we will be there again.  Can't wait, even if we have got to spend most of it shopping,  we will make up for it in the bar

Sadly, our time was limited and we seemed to spend it all in the car flying around from shop to shop etc. We had little time to spend at the Condado but we heard the same different rumours as are on this thread (hotel / sports complex). Nothing concrete (if you'll pardon the pun!)

Got home just in time to see the final score at Murrayfield but none of the game. Pals who went along (including the poor fool who bought my ticket) seemed to think that it wasn't as bad as the score suggests but they'd been drinking, I think! Sounds like £30 saved to me. We had great weather and despite not getting some time to rest up in the heat, we were happy with what we'd achieved and can't wait to get back - probably in January - for MORE shopping - yippee!!

Not sure this helps but if you look at the plans on the printed brochures there are pitches/courts behind the clubhouse pictured - these are in line with the penthouses.  Over the road is the space where the El Agora was suppose to have been. It's now just a green park area on the model in the sales office.

Its all looking good though, despite the lack of people at the moment!

Hi All,

Just back from a hectic  week furnishing etc.  Had some problems such as fridge freezer not fitting in the space that was made for it in the 2 bed aparment.  Knocking off the skirting tiles didn't help.  So PW had to come in and move the top cupboards slightly and take off a bit of the worktop. They made a good job of doing it apart from where the skirting tiles were, but we decided we are going to put that right ourself.

A few issues with the snagging.  Our 2 bed had been signed off but, when we walked in there were quite a few things that either hadn't been picked up or were considered ok.  Apart from the fridge/freezer space, which we know is not a snagging issue, there were about 7 other things we picked up, and we didn't go round with a magnifying glass. Ironically, the 3 bed, which hasn't been signed off was ok apart from a couple of silly things.

We had Gary from Polarair to do the aircon, they did a great job, but that threw up a couple more things that had to be rectified.  The covers that are over the holes, before the aircon goes in, were  bigger than the hole for some reason so, that left another painting job after the aircon was in. The other thing is more annoying, it may affect some of you If you have an end apartment.  For some strange reason, we  can't begin to fathom why,  the pre-installation on the solarium comes out under the pergola?  So we now have two eye catching air con units stuck under there.  We have asked PW and they have come back and said, the issue has been rejected as that is what is shown in the building project.  Still working on it but not holding our breath.

Carol is doing a great job for us with the keyholding, she wasn't there for part of the week but Ashleigh did a fantastic job in her absence.

Steve the Ikea man is finishing off putting up our curtains poles, bathroom fittings etc as I type and I can thouroughly recommend him.

The whole place is looking better and better each time we go.  The golf course is amazing. Martyn took some pics, so he will probably get some downloaded if he's not  too late getting in from work.

There was a problem at penthouse block 11,  some sort of flooding by the looks of it, hopefully doesn't affect anyone on here.  They were sorting it, so I'm sure they will be ok

There are probably hundreds of other things I could tell you, but don't want to ramble on forever So I will leave it for now.  Anything you want to know, please ask and we'll help if we can

Thanks to Heslop for the use of their apartment for the first 3 nights.  Very comfortable and well furnished.
