Just watched trees being planted between buggy path and penthouse path from block 10 to 12. Look something like norwegian spruce. About 12 feet tall and healthy looking. Watering system for them is done then should get grass for lawns in front. Also working on 12th tees in front of block 10.

Hi Barry,
Have just check the internet and if the trees are what you think they are they grow to approx 80 to 100 feet and like to be planted in shade or partial shade, so on this occasion I am hoping you are wrong. If you are right, Simon is changing profession to lumberjack, as we will not be able to see a thing from our balcony. Do you think they would let us fly with a chain saw in tow.

Hello Ali and Simon
I am not an agronomist (or anything else to do with plants) just a guess. Have seen similar trees on Camposol and they arent big yet. Got fir cones on. You have great view over course and down street from yours.. Cant see 12th green from mine so will have to rent it out for Ryder Cup and come up yours to watch it!
Views are fantastic from terrace wake up to the sunshine (not alarm) every morning. Watch sunset and change of colours on the skyline every night followed by millions of stars above. Cant wait for the day to begin again!
Had good night out Saturday with Underhand (Mork and Mindy) and Smivs. Cant remember too much though.
When are you out again?
Barry and Sue

Hi Barry
We're next out on the 19th December for 5 days, so will hopefully catch up with you then, and hope the trees haven't grown too big by then.
Speak to you soon.
Simon

Hi!
Just returned from Condado and our penthouse in Block 13. As a norwegian myself, I must admit that I am pretty worried about these norwegian-looking pine trees. They are planted between every block, somtimes in groups of six and eight. They are already pretty high, and when they grow bigger, and thicker, they will definately block some of the views, for some apartments also the sunset. Which is a shame when you have bought an apartment with such a fantastic location.
I understand the need of some vegetation between the course and the penthouses, but why not keeping it low. Om monday, the views from the pool between block 9 and 10 was absolutely marvellous, the best on site. Now you have to look at the same view between a forest of pine needles.
Together, we might be able to something about it before they settle. Do we contact custormer service? Any suggestions?

My suggestion's to chop them down if they block my view of the Golf course
However, on a sensible note, I am currently speaking to Customer Services regarding my snagging, so I'll drop them a quick e-mail about how high they expect these trees to grow, and will report back, if I hear something.

Hi guys
I am no tree expert but I am having my conifer trees taken out on Saturday at the side of my home because I have had some trouble with the roots, they have travelled at least 6 foot towards my place.
My trees were cut off at the top and trimmed regularly and they have just got too wide!!
Anyway the point I am trying to make is the roots of these trees can cause big problems in the future, I have known them to play havic with the footings of any building. A bungalow near me had them all taken away due to sub sidetance on the property. #
I think it would be a shame for you folks to miss out on the views they look fabuous and I think you are right Tom a group of you should contact PW sooner than later. And maybe you can use the above to add to the list of reasons to why they should plant so many and so high!

Hi All,
I am sure PW are not daft with this type of planting - certain that the buildings won't be at risk. I was thinking during my recent visit that the course needed some trees & that the view of the Penthouses from the course also needed to be broken up with tress, to avoid just a mass of white blocks. Of course we don't want to spoil our views - the major asset of these apartments, but I for one am happy they are planting something.
They will have a Planting Plan somewhere, so myabe Barney can suss out what it is being planned. Any pics of the trees about yet?

Hi All,
If these trees are planted between blocks 9 & 10 on the course does that not mean they will cast a shadow over the pool at a certain time of the day and stop us bathing beauties from sunbathing next to the pool? This potentially could be another blonde moment, but seriously I am worried.

Hi Ali,
That'sa good point - had not thought of that. A little shaded area is sometimes nice, but if there is a blanket of trees, like a wall, then when the sun starts to go down late afternoon it will be a problem.......

Talking of trees - from the sales brurb "Los Naranjos de Alhama is a Resort both named after and represented by the orange tree. This ornamental fruit tree lines the streets and is present in the gardens and squares of the complex, filing them with its sweet aroma." Has any one seen an orange tree? Olive, yep seen plenty, but Orange?

Hi all,
I have uploaded 3 photos of the trees being planted in front of the penthouses taken last Friday by my husband (who was obsessed with every little development on the golf course). The penthouse block in the photo's is the one on the end next to the town centre.
By the way - talking of the golf course, we noticed last week for 3 days running, that as you came through the Jardines entrance gate, that up on the left on the banking of the golf course 2 - 3 workmen spent all day digging a series of what looked like small holes up the banks of the course, across an area at least 50 metres wide and 10 metres high. We couldn't work out why they were doing this. Anyone any idea? It seemed a rather labour intensive job and my husband came close to kerbing the car several times in his efforts to see what was what!

How about for the saplings that will eventually become the bushes that we golfers end up losing our balls in (so to speak !) ?? A potential Ryder cup course needs a fair sprinkling of hazards about.
Regards.

Thanks for the photo's Caroline! Now I have seen the photo's it shows the trees aren't as near to the apartments as the impression I was getting!
The golf course is coming on leaps and bounds the landscaping is looking good!
The holes up the bank sounds intriguing , must admit I came closed a couple of times kerbing the car when "rubber necking it" on something new! lol !

....but if you were planting why would you dig 100's of holes first, then add the plants later?!! Wouldn't you end up accidentally filling some of them up again whilst planting or doing yourself a mischief by tripping over every 2 mins. All we could think is that they were purposefully 'roughing' up the edges ready for something like wild flower or long grass seeding. The mind boggles!

Hi Will & Jackie,
What you two get up to in the bushes is your business, no need to share this info
hehe

Hi Folks,
Si got a reply with regards to his enquiry about the trees planted in front of penthouses, apparently they are pine trees. Planning department have taken views of the golf course into account when planting these trees and we are adviced they will not obsure these views of the course, but we are on the second floor.
