Hi all,
I read a thread on here in the last week regarding a guy that is based in Teesside and delivers goods on a weekly basis. I can't find which thread this was on now. Can anyone who knows advise of the contact details please. With the way the pound is against the euro now, things that were already more expensive in Spain are becoming really more expensive. I am looking at buying TV etc here now and transporting as part of a combined load. Currys are advertising a great deal right now for a Sony 32" complete with a DVD cinema system for £399.
Regards,

We are looking into transporting things over, but going to see if my good old dad will do it for me!!
does anyone know if kettles/toasters/irons etc are cheaper to buy here or there? originally planned to get it all out there, but as (hopefully) i will have a van load going over thought i might as well get them here and just buy some adapters for the plugs etc not sure if this is a good idea or not????
thanks
michelle

Kettles, toasters etc are very expensive in Spain. If you take over an UK kettle it will work but will take alot longer to boil

Hi Michelle,
Its a fairly easy drive. We did it in the summer - car and trailer loaded with furniture. Roads are really good quality - once you leave the UK!!! But they are toll roads of course - costs about 90Euros each way. There are 4 main north-to-south routes through France. We chose the 'Millau' route which takes you across the worlds tallest suspension bridge. Some FANTASTIC scenery along the way - from mid France onwards, its really nice.
We used our satnav. But to be honest, if you used a decent routeplanner (such as www.viamichelin.com), you can't really go wrong.
We're driving out again at Christmas. We'll try one of the other routes this time - just to see a bit more of the country. Looking forward to it already!!!!
Reference to kettles, toasters and stuff. We brought all of these from the UK. All work fine... Kettle boils in normal time (think you must have bought a dodgy kettle Carlisle family....). Otherwise, I can also recommend MediaMarkt - or one of the big stores such as Auchan, Carreforre etc.
Good Luck, Brian & Michelle

Thank's for the info folks - I'll get in touch.
I think I saw a character reference in one of the threads from someone who had already employed him. Obviously, will check things out - you read plenty of stories of the various scams that go on and think 'how the hell did they fall for that ?' don't you. Would be a nice way (for a enterprising rogue) of getting a wagon load of brand new goods but it would only work the once in the same place ?
Regards,

Thanks i would appreciate that, we do not complete until next week but will be in no rush thereon and in light of the current situation we will definetly buy most things in the UK, and hence need someone reliable and sensibly priced.
best regards
mike
