Hi,
We have purchased a quarter villa due for completion Jul 09.
We have been approached about buying furniture packs for our new home and whilst it seems like an easier and much cheaper option than dragging all our stuff over from the UK are there any horror stories about these packs ??
Being a british and a sceptic (kind of the same thing i think) when something seems to good to be true.....
If anyone has had a good experience of these packs and can recommend a dealer then that would prove very useful.

Hi
There are plenty of furniture shops/warehouses around the area - there have been earlier threads where people have suggested shops to visit. There is now a very large industrial estate in Murcia city ( on the C3319) where the football stadium is also.
There are a couple of good bed shops on the Polaris World Mar Menor road, off the AP7.
Castor, in San Javier, is very nice and well worth a visit.
Good luck with your completions and happy shopping!
Karen

Hi Morby Family
We were also given the incentive by MASA of 3,000 Euros but have been told that it can only be used at Torregrossa furniture store, which is at the North end on Torrevieja.
Maybe you would like to check this out and let me know if you have been told differently.

We bought last year and had a furniture pack through MASA at the same store. We were taken there when we came out to sign and take possession of our Quad.
The furniture pack voucher was only worth 1000 Euros. We did not like the quality of the goods as 1000 euros does not furnish a 3 bedroom house very well. We were told we could have the money provided we spent it in store so we spent it on white goods and fans and lights.
One thing we were told was that the voucher is only valid for a month, so unless you are going out there again ie within 4 weeks you have to make a decision whilst you are there. Ask the question anyway, they may have changed this policy. Don't be pushed into making a decision there and then. We came back the day after and ordered our goods after doing a bit of browsing. The price of the lights, ceiling fans includes fitting so we were quite happy to do this. We ordered goods a few hundred euros more than our voucher was but were told we could pay the driver the excess when they delivered and fitted everything which in our case was 8 weeks later.
As others have said there are plenty of other places to get furniture around to its worth taking you time about it.
Hope this helps
Steve

Hi
We bought through Masa but requsted the 3000 euros be deducted from the purchase of the property, & they agreed to it!
We also thought that 3000 euros was insufficent!

We had budgeted, for out 3 bed quad, 10,000 euros. In old money it was £7000 so now it will be 7,000 euros.
This is for everything - air con, tv, dvd, satelite, beds, couch, chairs, table, fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, bedding, pots & pans, knives & fork etc
How much has every one else budgeted or how much did it cost for those allready lucky enough to have done it?
