Removing The Bidet

Hi All

When we were out at New Year, we had our bidet taken out and tiles replaced by Steve (ENDPEG). He did a fantastic job and very reasonable. We thought it was a bit tight between the toilet and bidet and I wash my feet when I'm in the shower anyway, so we have now put a cabinet in its place for storage of toiletries. I will PM details of Steve for anybody interested.

We also had our bidet removed so we could put in a bathroom cabinet and it made a big difference to the storage.

However we were told afterwards if we ever want to sell the apartment we would need to put the bidet back in.  The only problem is we left it out for Polaris and they took it!!

You can buy a new bidet for €30 and it would cost about as much to install as to uninstall , approx €75 . But I think that this only applies to new property , I will try and find out for everybody , it may not be for a week as I have to go back to the UK tomorrow to watch Grandson playing football , and it is a week long tournament if I had my way I would be back after a couple of days ( but maybe his team will get knocked out early and I can come back home to Spain and the b++++y cold weather only 10 degrees today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand why it would be  a problem not having a bidet when you come to sell, because the Penthouse apartments don't have one in from new.

Enjoy the lovely British weather, you know you miss it really. Nothing like watching the football in the freezing weather. Heard you and Carol found more than you bargained for when you went to do the extractor.

Hope you're right save a couple of euro if we ever sold. Can't remember who told me now but we were informed that if the property had a bidet in then it had to be sold with one in the future. Not bothered to much at the moment for the nominal cost if it had to go back. Bathroom alot bigger without it and the cabinet gives that all important bit of storage.

JUST GOT BACK FROM THE AMA. WE HAD OUR BIDET REMOVED BY BOB FROM HAYES CARPENTRY HE DID A GREAT JOB YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW THERE WAS A BIDET ORIGINALY IT TOOK HIM JUST UNDER THREE HOURS. HE EVEN MATCHED THE TILES.

The job took Bob Three hours. He capped the drains, matched the tiles perfectly. The room seems not cramped now. He charged us 120euros which At first seemed dear, but after seeing the job we thought it was worth it. A few others off this forum have used him.   info@hayescarpentry.net  Steve (endpeg) does the job for about 80 euros but I dont know anyone who has used him for this job.

We have just got back from our apartment and we had Steve this week to remove our bidet

and he did a first class job and matched all the tiles.
