I realise there is already a thread on this, but as its under a different subject i thought ied start a new one. In terms of where they could build access I dont think you can get away from the fact it has to be via the course in some way.
if you think about it many golf courses are split by a road or path. They would either have to build a path parallel to the cart path and then protect it from the golf balls or build a protective surrounding to the current cart trek.
Lots of issues in this suggestion.
1. Will obstruct view from villa's
2. Will be an eyesore on the course
3. cost
A more logical option is perhaps using the current path only after golf has finished combined with public transport on the main rd.

I think the only way it can be done is the cart path that runs along the side of the 18th hole, currently the way i go at night. Or a path around the top end of the course, which defeats the object of it being called a short cut.
Many golf courses in the UK have public footpaths that run through and along the golf course along with signs telling users they use them at their own risk.
Many of us golfers will drive off on a hole with golfers on the parallel hole looking for their ball in the rough, this would only be the same distance as if people were walking on the cart path.

not wishing to be contencious on this issue ( as it appears to be a concern) was there not a more direct route on the plans ? if not is it really feasable for calidona to put a walkway across the course and if so at whose expence ?

A friend of mine is going out to our apartment next week and I have told him that he must hire a car or he will not be able to leave the apartment as its too far to walk. The unfortunate thing is that if he has a drink in the club he really should not drive back. Roda must have a pedestrian walkway from phase 3 to the golf club as it is an obvious design fault that they must except responsibility for.

Hi
I am on phase 111 last October we walked accross buggy path to club house. but this is not acceptable. We will be there again April 11 to 21 if anyone wants to meet regarding what action we can take. We will support any ideas or protests that you may have.

We will be there then too.
The answer for me for now, is just to use the golf course access at night. Its not such a big deal during the day, as I would just use the car.The problem is advertising this fact when your renting, is very difficult. We should all purposely use the course as much as possible to annoy Roda into action. But obviously not when the golf is in play.
A Roda based taxi service, could do well at night during the peak season. As long as the fee was reasonable.
We phase 3 folks are going have to try and force this, as when the resort is more developed in a couple of years we are going to have a rental disadvantage. Right now I dont think it matters as you need a car for any phase, or u would be facing a very boring holiday!!

Hi all
At our caravan park in N.Ireland the local pub landlord supplies a free taxi service back to the caravan park, about 1km this ensures the safety of his customers and good will trade , why cant roda or licencee do this.

Did anyone get told about a 'shuttle' bus service that was to be in place for the resort?
I am sure (memory thing) that back in 2006 when we signed up for an apartment on phase 3b that we asked about how one would be able to get around the resort without a car and we were told that there would be a free shuttle service around the complex (including to the ferry for the beach club). Was anyone else told this or did anyone ask, and what was the reply?
Thanks

We're also 3b. When we bought our apartment in 2005 the sales office were a bit vague about access across the course - at this time the course was still under construction and no one really seemed to know what the end result would be.
Absolutely agree with you Ray on the rental disadvantage as whilst people booking for the 1st time may be none the wiser and happy to stay on phase 3, we would expect that should they wish to rebook they would prefer phase 1 - we would if it was us!! Seems unfair that here we are at phase 3 (and eventually 4) who paid a a higher price than phases1 + 2 and yet can't easily access the facilities.
We support you 100% in obtaining a solution for our dilema!

Hi All
I was told by the Sales Staff that there would be shuttle buses in the Resort ,
I asked if they would be the same as in La Manga Club i.e. lots of drop off points on the Resort stopping of course at the Hotel and Commercial Centre , Golf Club etc , BUT ALSO the Lady mentioned every Phase would have a designated "Bus Stop" where a 6/8 seater mini bus would pick up at the various stops
She even mentioned that the Shuttle would be open all year with longer times in the Summer
Unfortuantly the Lady in question no longer works for Calidona and I cant see them doing anything, my Faith in their coming up with the Shuttle Buses is pretty low considering all that has gone on before
Oh She also said that the Bus would be taking Clients to the Beach Club but at the open of the Buses the meeting place would be for the moment at the main entrance
If you want to take it further I for one would join any action group to discuss this with Roda
Cheers

Spoke to customer service in Roda and they suggested we canvass our community president - Housing Comunidades for a resolution for this matter. If you dont have their email PM me.
Also if Phase 3A and B people want, they can give me their private email and I will CC them on my mail to the Housing Comunidades. I have some suggestions as follows:
1/ Lights be put on the buggt track, so at night the track from phase 3B to the clubhouse becomes an official walkway
2/ Allegedly during the summer the Beach club bus will go all around the resort. So an official time table be publised so this can be used for access to the Club House / Roda main entrance
3/ Netting be put up along the buggy track(as mentioned above) so it can be used any time of the day. This netting is already in place in many parts of the course.
The only way we will get any action is with power of nos, so I encourage you all to seek a resolution and if we keep at them eventually we may get progress -Shawshank Redemption style!! - Hopefully it wont take 7 years!!
