Hi Ted
These photos are great good to see such progress on the golf course, I have got keen golfers going out in august interested in the golf we have to offer on condado it should be well on the way by then to give the big sell for next year.
Photos great thank you for the up date it is so good that everyone seems to be working together to make this resort something special and like no other the community feel when you are on the resort and on the forum is great.
Cheers

Hi Ted.............Great pics as always. Greens lookfantastic, but I have to say though despite Jans comment below, there does not seem a great deal of progress since I was there at Easter. Still loads of fairways not seeded, bunkers developed etc. I was told that all fairway would be sown by end of May, but cannot see that now. What do you think about the Oct / Nov opening forecast now? Will need a massive push from now to achieve this year I think. Hope I am wrong!!
Did you see much work being done on the course during your visit?
Cheers for the pics though - a reminder of what to look forward too - this year or next at worst case
Nick

Hi Nick,
Definately lots of work going on, planting, watering etc. The grass is starting to show through, but it is difficult to see through the greenish sand that seems to be laid. On interesting thing, the sprinklers seem to be about 2 inches above the fairway levels - as do the edges of the greens. We were wondering if they are going to lay more sand/soil as the grass grows - but not sure how this works.
I don't know about Oct/Nov, but the grass is growing, and I think it will come through pretty fast. Played at Mar Menor, and they are expecting the second 9 around the same time, and the condition seemed similar. All we can do is hope, but i do thnk this will be a fantastic course when it is ready.
Ted
ps: Also played Hacienda Requelme whilst over, a bit further than la Torre, but would definately recommend it - but get a buggy!!

As a golfer of reasonable ability (I play off 7 and walked the course last week) even if the course is ready for Nov this year, which I very much doubt, it will be at least 12months after that before we start to see the benefits. Having said that the layout looks fantastic and I reckon we have a real gem on our hands for the future, just a bit of patience needed by all.

Not a golfer, but looking at these photos I might just become one - especially if the price for a round PW charge starts to fall. A year from now I think the course will look amazing and everytime you visit the resort it is really exciting to see the changes.
I have mental image of sitting on a veranda in front of the golf club on a balmy night sipping (wife guzzling) a nice chilled glass of white wine watching the sunset. Wow. In the mean time my balcony will do very nicely.
I wish I was good at photography. PW should be paying you for these as they are a wonderful promotion of the resort. Keep it going please.

Nice,
I'm sitting here reading this and in my mind I'm with you Jonathan, the view from the club house out across the course should be amazing. suppose I'd better bring my own wife though

Thanks Ted,
Excellent photos, can't wait to see it in reality again. On a couple of the photos you can actually see green shoots coming through the yellow stuff on the fairways. Regarding the sprinklers, when we asked about them in the customer services, we were told that they were above ground for now to prevent them being fouled with soil and stones.

just finished a round of golf in a wet tyne and wear, got a nice cuppa and having a look through these marvelous photos, i think it is this type of photos why i took up the game, cant wait for the course to be ready, and start to raise my handicap, this looks really tough.
i am not a green keeper but the reason the drains are higher is to stop damage either by mud, dust and silt entering the drains prior to them been put to use? they will be cut level when the final layer is applied, i think?

Great photos of golf course Ted and interesting shots of a busy foro. Probably sill question to follow: Will non golfers, i.e. residents out for a stroll be permitted to walk along the buggy trails on the golf course?

dont want to sound like a spoil sport, but i would make the most of the path while the course isnt open, the public will not, or i doubt be able to walk the course when opened, golf courses are dangerous places and it costs insurance companys millions in claims, so waking up in the morning and deciding to go for a stroll on the golf course may be out of the question, you may be able to walk the boundries, but there will be signs up explaining the dangers and liabilities, oh and keep off the grass

They look amazing and we're double excited. We're over on the 4th June and it will be nearly 6 months since our last visit so really looking forward to seeing all this progress for real. Keep up the good work, you are really keeping a lot of people very happy!
All the best
