Condado to Barcelona

Has anybody done this trip, I have checked the road route, but can anybody advise if the train is a good alternative

I have done the drive, it took me about 6 hours! Although that was in a big Sprinter Van!

The sat nav takes you right through the centre of valencia, this really slowed me down, if you drive, try to plan a route around Valencia, this could save you a bit of time?

Think train may be a better option, as there are a lot of toll roads on the way.

I looked at this last year.  I think you can take the train all the way from Totana.  I costs around £80 and you can book your journey from the UK.  This is all from (my dreadful) memory but it is certainly possible. I think the journey time was around 6 hours.  Arlene

Try looking at the website www.renfe.es. It is very informative and lists all the train services and fares in Spain.

I think you will probably have to change trains at Murcia Del Carmen to go to Barcelona.

From our very limited experience of train travel in Spain, it was excellent value and the trains seem to run on time.
