Generator noise at proposed Clubhouse site.

Does anyone know why or what this generator is there for, is it a water pump for the sprinklers or something....it was going all night last friday night while we were there....but did notice the sound was certainly dampened with the patio doors closed, which surprised me a bit, i wasnt expecting the doors and windows to defuse the noise that much it was actually bearable but still there and not as bad. But we had a ball over the few days we stayed anyway, got there Wed, damp and cloudy, Thurs rain till around 2pm then Fri & Sat sunny and warm so cant complain.....out again in few weeks hopefully the generator will be moved by then.....well.....here's hoping ( I doubt it though)

We have a penthouse right behind the 18th Green so the generator is a constant cause of frustration for us. It has been there on the four occasions we have been over since Dec 2008 and appears to be there for the long term. When my wife was last out in January it appeared to be on during the morning but then went off in the afternoon and evening. I dont think it will disappear any time soon.

Having used the Driving range i believe the Generator feeds the Ball Dispenser and the Shoe Clean Machine and possibly the lights in the Toilet.

People in the Penthouse should complain to the Golf Shop whilst it is necessary during the day for the functioning of the facility it should not be on during darkness?

Hopefully a proper supply will be installed as soon as possible?

Yeah we were out there last week and the generator was on all day... but they did manage to switch it off at dusk. It is really annoying.. I want to complain to Polaris World but can't see them taking much notice.

We went out there for peace and quiet but came home moaning about this generator... so I'm not looking forward to my next trip if that noise is going on all day. Can't see it operating the ball dispenser etc as its too far away... must be for something else but what?

We are also hoping to rent.... can't see that happening yet. Anyone know how long its going to be there?

This generator has been there long before the driving range was completed. I think it powers the pumps & sprinkler system for the golf course. The cables run away from it and then into underground ducts. Can't understand why though, it would not be on mains supply now. Possibly Polaris not wanting the expense of bills from the electricity main grid supplier to the detriment of the nearby residents ?

The noise from the two generators has already been brought to the attention of Polaris World.  The presidents wrote the general manager, Mr. D. FRANCISCO SARDINA,  a letter regarding this and presented it to him at a meeting on the 11th of January,  The letter and his reply are on the community website.   In short they will be removed once the course is connected to the mains suppy, awaiting Iberdrola.

Thanks for that information Phil. It sounds more reassuring to know that the presidents have taken up this problem.  The generator has been there a long time cos it was half that size and made a lot less noise when we first move in last year. We never thought it would get so much bigger and louder...I tried to make a few enquiries and was told to get in touch with our president... but then found out we havent got one. Could you advise us on who we can get in touch with for this and other queries... we are in Penthouse Block 8..

As you say, none of the pemthouses currently have presidents, hopefully someone will stand for election this year.

Just a quick update. I emailed Polaris World customer services with a complaint about the generator and they replyed within a few hours with.

"We will remove the unit shortly. We aplogise for the inconvenice"

Lets hope it is very soon.

While watching Hi5 tour yesterday noticed it wasn't on. Don't know if that is permanent.
