We are in the process of connecting utilities, installing air con and coming over to purchase furniture for our penthouse.
Has anyone got any advice re how we get water turned on in the property, recommendations re air con and any recommendations re furniture suppliers? Any advice (who to use and who to avoid!!) would be really appreciated!
Also we are coming over in a few weeks time and need somewhere to stay for three nights whilst we start our search-does anyone know of reasonable cheap accomodation nearby?
Thanks very much!!

Morning and welcome to the forum and penthouse ownership on Condado
Currently ALL penthouse are on builders water (Urbaser has yet to switch us on to mains but this is pending) - you would need to go downstairs into the cupboard next to the lift and switch on YOUR tap (very technical !) they are listed by letter and numbers NOT by your aparment number but its written by block - ABC and 123 so its not to hard to work out. There will be a master knob high on the wall in the kitchen that wil need turning out to get the mains into the appartment - your keyholder could set all this up to for you maybe in the future
Loads of furniture places / white goods nearby - many guys go to Ikea 30 mins away and buy all from here, there is at least one guy on the forum Steve (endpeg) (lives in campsol) who can do all this for you or you could go to Murcia Furniture or another of the furtnture sheds depending on what you want and buy a complete pack that covers everything ??
With regard to somehwere to stay I am sure you will be overhwhelmed with offers for rental on Condado itself why not stay on site rather than a local hotel - loads of places available through the forum - when are you over ? I am on site from the 24th for two weeks and cant wait !
Rgds

First of all-thank you to everyone who has responded so far. We are completely overwhelmed with the responses received. If we do not respond directly, this is only as a result of the number of responses received-so apologies if we do not respond back directly.
We will now definately be staying on Condado! We will have a look at the offers received and get in touch with one of you shortly.
Can I also just clarify whether we have access to the boxes to turn on the water as explained by snorkychopper earlier in the thread, or do we need to obtain a key from customer services?
Many thanks once again. If there are any other recommendations re air conditioning and furniture-we would be keen to hear from you.

Morning
Dont go looking for customer services on Condado for they no longer be there !!
There used to be a small coterie of people you could go and chastise to sort out problems in the showroom on the perimeter road - but they all left the site before the recent Polaris financial "issues" - who knows they may come back now that PW have clung onto life for a little while longer - but I think all but 1 or 2 of the customer service staff were laid off
The door downstairs wil almost certainly be open (the next one with the electrics will be locked) its right next to the lift and looks a little like the magical mouse organ from Bagpuss (or maybe thats just me ?) with loads of pipes and taps and brasswork - there is ONE master tap that will be ON but the individual tap to YOUR place will be off - just turn it on and open the tap in your appartment
Dont forget you wil also need lights as all you wil have is holes in the ceiling with wires hanging out - you can have fitted recessed spots in all room except lounge where the ceiling is concrets and not suspended - again this is soemthing Steve coudl help you with or your keyholder will know a handyman of two as there are many talenedt guys around onsite who can help with technical isues leaving you with the important task of relaxing in the sun !

Hi Gav & Michelle,
Just a quick word of warning ,which may or may not apply to your apartment, check all plumbing connections before you turn on the water!!
I say this because in our apartment all the plumbing connections, for water and waste, were only hand tightened.
As there was no water supply on when the apartment was snagged it could not be checked.

No problem glad to help, if only to ease some of the stress you will experience when you 1st arrive
You will also need to give the place a damn good clean as it wil be filthy dirty. If you have never been in before, it would have had what is laughingly called a "builders clean" when it was completed (this means they pick up the large pieces of rubbish and leave the rest)
If you nip down the main road towards Mazarron - stop at the development at camposol as there is a DIY shed there next to the supermarket that sells anything you may want to set you up in terms of cleaning stuff and also outside furniture !!
I am over on the 25th May for two weeks if you are around and want to take a look at our place ?

For furniture DFS Spain in San Javier provide a superb service at what I regard as a competitive price. Leroy Merlin and IKEA are good for most other requirements. Between those three we furnished / fitted out our apartment in a very short time. Furniture was ordered in advance.

Hi,
I purchased all furniture from Hinos Garcia in Alicante. Superb service, vast choice. All furniture arrived as promised, any flat packs fabricated in situ' by delivery guys. Be warned, furniture very expensive.
