Hi everyone
We put down a deposit on Apartment A, block 111 yesterday. Apparently it was sold, but came back on the market for some reason.
As we were there so recently I thought I'd let you know how we found the site.
First off, I can't understand why they've finished our block before block 11, but I'm sure someone will have an explanation.
We have been told that our apartment will be ready for us on 20th March, but I haven't booked the flights yet, just in case!
First off we went to the site on Sunday, so nothing happening and our block was all locked up. The site manager let us in to block 4 despite the obvious hazards. A bit of excitement - while we were in there I heard a dog barking and crying. Being a soft Brit I insisted I would investigate and found a poor little mutt down the lift shaft. However the bottom of the lift shaft had quite a bit of water in it and the mutt was stuck. I insisted that the authorities were contacted and eventually two nice policemen came out, inventively used a scaffold pole and some plastic ties to make a noose and gently fished the dog out. It turned out that 'it' was 'she' and although cold and had slightly bloody paws, seemed OK. We then continued our tour of the apartments.
The interior of block 4 has some walls and apartments are identifiable, but there's no plaster or wiring or plumbing evident. The same goes for block 5.
The foundations are in and the building of the block in front of 3-5 is progressing.
The shops and bank area are just a shell with supporting pillars but I don't know how long they have been like this.
We returned on Monday to get a look inside 'our' apartment. All the entrance, stairs and corridors are finished. Our apartment is complete but for a bit of cleaning up and the issuance of the certificate of habitation (or whatever it's called).
We went up on the roof and it all appears to be complete although obviously the pool only contained rainwater!
We have some pictures and once we've downloaded them I'll put them on this site in the hope that it will help some of you.
There was lots of activity in blocks 2, 4 and 5 on Monday 6th.
We are returning on 18th February to get our NI numbers and choose our furniture. If anyone has anything in particular they want me to investigate, I'll happily oblige.
Although we're not going to be there permanently, we hope to be spending quite a lot of time there. It would be great if we could develop a true 'community' and make friends etc.
Bye. Irene
