New meat for the grinder!

Good morning ... just had a letter from palacios mar stating our property is ready to be signed over... Having heard the storys of the builders rushing completion dates in order to raise funds... I was wondering if there is any way of getting your propery checked before you travel over as I would hate to travel all that way with my bucket and spade only to find it was not fit for habitation ... I would be grateful for any sound advice the sages from these forums could offer

What block are you guys in? My wife has arrived over today for a couple of days and is going to see the apartments so i will let you know what state they are in at this point

My wife got in to see a couple of the apartments on the first floor in block 4 and she said they where all in pretty much the same state. All have been tiled etc. but no kitchens in them yet. I'd imagine another couple of weeks should finish them out

I dont know about taking a bucket and spade,  i think it's more like a bucket of salt spoke to the agent today and was told to ignore this letter and that a letter from the solicitor is to follow.

Looks like a false dawn !... ive taken my knotted hanky off my head and put the beach utensils back in the garage... ah well whats a month or two between friends ...

Hi John Linda, we got the same letter but we have been told to ignore it. The builders need to apply for a habitation licence, this can take a month at least. You would sign via your solictors power of attorney in most cases. Your solicitor will write to you when it it is time to collect the keys.  A false dawn but it will be worth it in the end. Are you the John I met from Stockport.

I would doubt very much they are complete. I am defintely going to hold out. Put it like this if you get it signed over and pay for it in the next couple of weeks, you won't be using it for some time after that due to the development mar y sol not been complete. My expectation in terms of paying final payment etc was that i would go out there when it was complete, pay the outstanding amounts etc and stay in the apartment for a week or so for a holiday. I don't think this is unreasonable. Whereas i think what could easily happen is that you go out pay funds etc but you just cannot stay in the apartment due to work still going in in the development

I have not received any emails , but i did phone S.P.G. this morning regarding the free pack , and they did say that the builder was trying to get some of the apartments in block 4 up to completion i,e ground floor?

I Had a call from spain on Thurday Morning at work,   The Solicitor (caroilne) she said the Building ( Block 4) will be ready in 1 weeks time

But not ready to hand over to us,  she ask me a few questions ,

I told her i was all ready going over next wek for a few days and i would like to see her

So i will see her on Friday, And will go out there to Mar Y Sol to see what is happening

I can only assume that Caroline means that block 4 will be complete, but due to block 5 not been ready for another while, health and safety or whatever other reasons or preventing them from handing over block 4. Well at least trying to read between the lines i hope thats what the current state of affairs is. I am hoping they will be forced in to completing all 5 blocks together not this handing over of individual blocks where the one adjacent to you is still a building site.

When you look at the whole development around block 4 you have got brasis mar 1 &2 going up, heradades formensol still under construction, and now the grupo domingo development going up on the corner opposite blocks 1&2  i think you will need to wear a hard hat and yellow jacket at all times even in bed.

Since i posted the last message i have recieved a few private emails asking about where these other developments i mentioned are, if you go onto www.palaciosmar.com  then look on the lunamar 11 mapa there you will find a street map,  all the blocks are numbered, it also shows the green areas etc .

i dont know why it is under lunamar as this development is in daya nueva?

I already have this map, but even looking at the one to which you refer, I still cannot see a development proposed for the corner opposite blocks 1 & 2, or am I missing something?  The pink area onto which 1 & 2 face we were told was to be the plot of land that has, by law to be left for the local autority to turn into a sports field.
