Completion - getting water & electricity

Hi All,

Well we are finally completing next week after long delays....we are wanting to come out on the 28th to sort our apartment and when we arrive it would be nice to have such things as running water & electricity...does anyone have a contact we can use to try to get this sorted asap ? I'd be grateful if anyone can advise on the correct process....or does this just happen automatically after completion ?? If automatically is this likely to be done by the 28th or is it done at Spanish speed ? LOL

Congratulations on your completion...

But don´t expect water and electricity when you arrive..! :o(

Spanish speed is 6 weeks and counting for us already!!! We completed on La Torre at end of June. We got water last week and we´re still waiting on Electricity. And.. that is with us using an Spanish speaking English solicitor to make all of the arrangements.

You may be luckier than us - I hope so!!! Its QUITE frustrating!!!!

Contact Iberdrola for your electricty - 902 201520. They do have people who speak English. Ask them to be able to make the contract by telephone. That is what we´re trying now (as they keep losing our emailed ones!!!)

For water.. contact Aguagest. 902 250270. For water... we had to go to their office in Torre Pacheco (theres probably one on Alhama de Murcia???) with habitation certificate to sign for it.

We completed recently and had no issues at all getting water and electritcity connected.....in fact it just happened - I can't even remember how it was done which makes me think that our solicitor in conjunction with our keyholder just got it sorted.  we live abroad already so there was no way we could got and sort it ourselves and we didn;t have to go to any office we just pitched up with our keys and it was all ready for us.  I will check with my husband when I next speak to him (he's back in Dubai now!) to see who sorted it for us......

I just checked back on my e mails and our solicitor made all the arrangements for the new contracts for water and electricity - it all worked because we had electricity and water for the night we spent there last month!

Thanks for all the info....it doesn't appear that there is much we can do to expedite matters so I guess we'll just have to ask our keyholder to check our power & water the day before we are due to arrive to see if its all on....if not I guess we'll be looking for a very last minute hotel !!!

I'd check with your solictory to see if he raised the contracts with the water and elec people - if he did then you should be fine!  good luck!

If you are completing on the jardines or penthouses in Naranjos we are all still on free water so you will not have to do anything there, you will just have to sort out your lecky.

Thanks everyone....my agent has now taken up the cause...

Apparently we are still on Builders Water so that shouldn't be a problem. My agent is going to sort the Electricity for us so fingers crossed !!
