When they first released the phase we were very busy with inspections, did around 9 over a couple of weeks and I am still progressing them through the furnishing and stages
Apart from one buyer everybody has now completed
The other big surge was just before the VAT rate increased
I have a couple on RODA booked over the next 2 weeks a Brisas and a Vila and that´s it at the moment and I know that, after the initial rush, it is very quiet and I am not sure how many they have completed on but looking for lights and curtains possibly around 25% but I am actually grateful for the break
We also did a number of inspections for people that switched from phase 4b , again before the VAT increase so it is not only phase 4 as some bought on phase 2, and 3 where there are still usold properties
I typically am onsite at RODA at least 1 day a week
Polaris were forecasting 100 completions on Terrazes over the last month, again typically there once a week and it hasn´t happened

Hi, had to add my comments to this. We were out for last 2 weeks in September and before that for a week in July. Definitely quieter in the September but guess that is because of schools restarting. However we met more people who are living permanently or semi-permanently on site. There were people working on maintaining the pool areas, and the greens were being maintained (sanded/treated). Yes the course looks patchy in places but it is not being neglected. There was a Texas scramble on the last Sat we were there and Harry went along and the course is being used on a daily basis, we went out a couple of times on it ourselves. There was building work going on at a number of properties and we managed to get most if not all of our snagging done over the course of the last couple of days - at one point about 12 different people turned up within the same hour to work on different things!. Granted it took some nagging at the office with Harry going in most days to politely chase them but his persistence and patience paid off in the end. So hang in there is what I say. Personally, can't wait to go back again at the end of October.

Hi all , just to add my comments. We have now had 5 trips this year last being 1st 2 weeks in september and since our 1st visit i thought the course was in good nic , the greens are very good and the fairways are much better than last year when i 1st played the course. We have always seen work being done on the course.True there are some patchy areas worst being the 11th tee area but it will take time.We have taken friends to play the course and they thought the course was great and having played roda i know we have the better of the two.We have now talk to many owners since we completed last july and have yet to meet someone who says the wish they had never seen the place and i and others i have met are of the same opinion that a lot of the none completers are investers who have got thier fingers burnt,Yes we all know things are not as they should be and the clubhouse being finished is a must. Not that it was why we bought but the horse riding centre seems busy they had some show jumping competition earlier in the year which was well attended. If you take a drive you will also see that the other sites are very quiet polaris, condado de alhama. We went for a meal at hacienda del alamo which has a great clubhouse but we had our meal with only 3 other tables being used it looked very empty (fish and chips on friday night for 10 euro including starter and desert good value) I am back in 2 weeks with 3 mates for 5 days golf and cant wait to play the course again for us it is for trips like this and family holidays why we bought in the first place.

Hi Simon,
Its good to hear that you are really happy with your holiday home at the country club. I have to say though that i think you are a little misguided when you say that the majority of non-completors are those evil nasty investors that "got their fingers burnt". I know for a fact that there is quite an even split between those that are investors and those that were buying their dream holiday home. But one thing is for certain it doesnt matter which camp you are in both groups have been right royally shafted by calidona. A country club with no clubhouse, an equestrian centre which is a joke, a 5* Devere hotel, a spa, a health club, a medical centre, a commercial centre, restaurants and bars that are all non-existent. When you bought on Corvera please tell me that is what you were expecting?? because i was and funnily enough so was everyone else, which is why we paid top dollar.
Now i admire your attitude of making the best of a bad thing and if i had completed i would be doing the same thing but please dont think for one minute that this disaster is all down to those people that foolishly believed that they would get what was advertised in those lovely glossy brochures. At the end of the day a lot of people have been pushed to the edge by a deceitful and i would say criminal developer that thinks they can promise a lot, deliver a little and still get paid! DREAM ON!

Mr Spanhod,
I can feel your frustration in your post...... You may be right but unfortunately, people like myself have completed and may be I shouldn't have... However, you have presented a "not so nice" picture for people like myself - do you have a solution? Any rapid solution? By anyone? Sorry but now that I am IN, I am quite looking forward to next 5 years..... Airport next year, Paramount village nearby in near future... talk (not relying on it) of huge investement in the area by the Chinese..........
Until all materalises, I have a golfcourse to myself (well almost), when I visit corvera. I love it. Peace and tranquility.........
Times are hard ...make the most of what's available.
For your records: property I have bought at corvera GC is my future home - hopefully (glass half full).

Mr Raviss,
You are correct i am very frustrated, and that frustration is aimed at the continued suggestions that its those naughty investors that have caused this problem. i totally respect the choices that you and everyone else has made whether it be to complete or not. Both choices have their upsides and downsides and everyone has made their decisions based upon their own individual circumstances.
I certainly dont have a solution and i certainly dont think i have all the answers but i do know that believe it or not we are all in the same boat . To presume that there are honorable purchasers i.e those that have bought for lifestyle purposes and the dishonorable investors is just plain nonsense and this attitude just provokes hostility. We ALL put our hard earned cash down for what was a very impressive sales pitch, i hope that eventually we all get what we have paid for. I am lucky enough to be able to buy or walk away, other poor souls are not and i cant even begin to imagine the turmoil that they are going through with threats of being chased through european courts.
We wouldnt be having these conversations if the project had been delivered on time and as advertised, its just a shame that the finger pointing is going anywhere other than at the developer because the blame lies squarely at their feet and nobody elses.
I wish you the best of luck and hope that this developer actually fulfills its moral and legal obligation to honour its commitment to deliver what it promised. If they do i will happily hand over the rest of my cash and will have no complaints...wouldnt that be lovely??
regards
Dave

Well said Spanhod - agree with all of that and am very much of the same thinking, however i fear we may have a long long wait for Corvera to honour its side of the agreement..

Hi David,
I fully agree with you on every item that you have mentioned.
As far as morality is concerned, Calidona has none.
Legally, it's a long process and (although as a completer) I shall be keen to join any group (including any financial assistance) to get Calidona to provide what they promised (brouchure).
Kind regards.
Ravi.

Just got back last night after 5 days of sun and great golf to be greeted at stansted with cold weather. The course was in good condition and have never seen so many people playing it which was good to see.Met a few more owners who as i have found before love the place.Still no sign of the clubhouse being started on again.Plenty of green staff working on the course keeping it in good condition which is good to see.We also played roda which was busy and after playing it my 3 mates who had never been before all said corvera was the better of the 2 resorts not just the course but the space and how relaxing corvera was (no road noice). We went to kema 2 in the high street which was great value for money a bit of tapas 4 rib steaks lots of beer 20 euros each.
I must also add that i met roy for the first time in august and he now does our key holding and cleaning. I had constantly complaind about 2 damp patches one in the living room and one in the main bedroom with not much being done apart from painting over the patches once they had dried out.Since roy has been on the case the living room has been sorted out and they are taking up the bedroom patio when my wife comes back next week to do the job properly which should had been done in the 1st place.I know takes some stick from some but i can only speak as i find and he has been very helpfull.
Roll on feb for my next trip.

Thank you for the comments on tthe service and I believe that we can get things done because we know what th real cause of the problems are and Corvera know that we are going to chase them, plus report bck to the client
i partly disagree with some areas of the course condition as I get feedback from people who play the course daily. ,
They have cut right back on green staff who are having to work very hard to maintain areas and fortunatley they have a lot of mechanical equipment
The problem remains while they are not generating any revenue from the course things resources are being kept to a minimum

Just returned from Corvera last night and was realy pleased to see lots of people on the golf course and around the appartments. We only completed in Sept and were very unsure if we had done the right thing. However after our recent visit we are more than happy that we have went ahead and purchased. The weather for this time of year is simply fanatastic and we cant wait to go back out again. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Roy Howitt for all his help in snagging and taking delivery of furniture etc. I can certainly recommend his services.
Happy completer

Hi all
We too have used Roy Howitt for the snagging. We did have a lots of snagging items, with 1 serious damp problem, but thanks to Roy who diagnosed the problem to Corvera, they have now been sorted.
His attention to detail is great and every time we meet his attitude is always very reassuring. The fact that he is on-site is invaluable as we have visited 3 times in the last 4 months and if there are any problems his response is always first class.
I cannot understand why he was subjected to so much stick on this forum when most of the people directing the abuse had never even met him ! I have nothing but praise for Roy and Lorraine and would recommend his snagging services to anyone - remember snagging is not to be taken lightly.
In addition to the snagging, he has provided some very useful advice for furniture (sales, location), shops - remember he knows the area, the shops and the suppliers.

Just to add my thanks to Roy for his sterling efforts in getting Corvera to attend to our many (including damp) problems when we completed earlier this year. I would highly recommend his services.
If your not there you cant hope to get the results he does. Corvera just ignore you!
