Gym located in the Old temporary Clubhouse, where they are extending the building.
It is being run by a private enterprise, nothing to do with Roda, no doubt a rental is payable by the new proprietor.

Does anyone know how to contact the people running the new gym? I went to the clubhouse on 1st May for the much publicised promotion to "save on the joining fee" - but there was no-one there at all. On enquiring from the Roda staff I was told that there had been a presentation the previous day (also as advertised) but nothing more.
Their website which was showing as being "under construction" a week or so ago now doesn't appear to exist at all. There is no sign of any gym equipment in the building - just empty space - and nobody around to ask.
Has this "new facility" disappeared before it even got started????

I attended the gym presentation which I found quite by accident at the Clubhouse but was very pleased to find out more.
I believe it was unfortunately poorly advertised and I got the impression that this may have been the Clubhouse fault not the gym. Although they were there over about 3 days.
I was very impressed with what I saw and heard and a gym on site is long overdue regardless of how it has come about.
I was told that the monthly membership will be 45 euros with a joining fee. There will be daily and a weekly pass rate from 15 euros. They are also running some fantastic aerobic classes, which are exactly the same as you find in the large commercial british gyms. There is to be a sauna etc and sports/aromatherapy massage offered also. The owners are British and seem very keen to provide as much as they can for Roda.
I think in order for it to be sustainable it will definitely need the support of the whole Roda community. They are scheduled to open on the 16 May.
I hope this helps

Thank you for this Marigold. I was wondering today if this was to be a non-event but hopefully it won't be.
I arrive on the 18th so will investigate further.
Thanks again, Loretta

Hope people will keep us informed on progress of this venture. The more facilities at Roda, the more saleable the resort. We should welcome such initiative and be positive about these steps and look to the future. Its tough out there and as they say " every little helps "

Well, the gym is still empty and didn't open on the 16th. A girl in the Sales office told me it will open at the end of the month. All the literature says it will open in May 2011.

Please can anyone explain the rubbish collection system on Roda? Fases 1, 2, & 3 all appear to have facilities for recycling plastic/aluminium, paper & glass as well as collection of organic waste whereas here on Fase 4 all our bins were only designated for "organic waste" until a few days ago when the labels on the bins disappeared altogether.
I understand rubbish collection is the responsibility of the Entidad rather than the Communidad is that right? And if so does anyone know why this Fase is treated differently?

Thank you Pommers,
Yes, Moira McGee has explained that the situation & location of the rubbish bins is at the discretion of the developer. We now have our new labels but all six are still only designated for kitchen waste. This is unfortunate because it is clear that some people are just putting everything into these bins intended only for organic matter. Apparently the recyclable bins are a different mechanism and collected differently, so it's not just a case of re-labelling.
