FAO fellow Scots - Spain v Scotland 11/10/11

I see that Alicante has been announced as the venue for the Spain v Scotland European Championship qualifier on the 11th of October.

Perfect timing for an autumn break at CdA, methinks. :)

Definately, flights booked this morning just need to try and get tickets now!

COMING OVER FOR 2 WEEKS( PERFECT TIMING) BRINGING SOME FRIENDS WITH US AND HOPING TO GET TICKETS AS WE ARE IN THE SCOTLAND SUPPORTERS CLUB BUT TOLD ONLY 1500 TICKETS FOR AWAY TEAM SO IF ANY TICKETS LET ME KNOW I WILL PROVIDE TRANSPORT HA HA

I think I'm right that UEFA rules state at least 10% if tickets must be available for the opposition. The Estadio José Rico Pérez in Alicante holds 30,000 so if I'm right we should get at least 3,000 tickets. That will however definately not be enough to meet demand. I'm surprised it's being held in such a small stadium TBH as I reckon we could easily sell up to 10,000 tickets, and I'm sure the Spanish will also turn out in large numbers to see their newly crowned World Champions. I was pretty sure this would have been played at the Bernabau, but I'm not complaining - IF I can get a ticket, of course.

I think the Spanish think that they will have qualified by that time or they would have held it a bigger stadium.I think there will be huge demand from us as we may still be in the fight for second place we hope.

Thanks for that information Cappielow, they are already supporters club members but as said previously don't think they have enough points to get tickets, but he ho boys will just don the face paint and kilts and watch it on the TV in apartment. Maybe Scotland will win!!!

I'm sure they'll show it in 'The Clover' Carol Anne, could be a good night with some good natured banter with the Spanish.

Can't see us getting anything from the game, but hey, you never know, we ran them close at Hampden.
