hello all, we were over in spain at the weekend to see how things were getting along but as far as i can see there are still 2 or 3 months before block 1 will be complete i now will wait untill i get confirmation from our representatives and not the builder . Its not all bad news the apartments are being finished to a high standard and well worth the wait we took some photos but not being very good on a computer i only got one on its our apartment at the gable end of the building next to the pool.

Hi,
We are also in block 1, in fact the front door opposite yours as we are also adjacent to the pool, but at the back of the block rather than the front. Unfortunately we have not been able to get over since this time last year, but we have been avidly devouring photographs by those kind enough to take (and publish) them!
Block 1 doesn't seem to get a lot of mention on EOS for some reason and to be honest we have become a bit dispirited over the constant delays and broken promises. Whilst we don't intend just using the apartment as a holiday home, we want to try how we find Spanish life later this year when I retire. We will stay there for 2 to 3 months and see how we feel. Here in Canterbury, we have a 4 bed house and garden which is not compatible with being left unattended for months on end, so we plan to sell up, buy an apartment in the UK, just to have a base to come back to and alternate Spain / UK on a 6 month cycle, but we want to stick our toe in the water first.
Did you happen to wander through into the rear of the block? Your apartment is slightly larger, taking advantage of the space taken up on our side by the stair/lift well, but to compensate we have a terrace at the rear. If you did manage to look, we would be grateful for your thoughts on the basement / terrace area.
We are putting a couple of weeks aside for late May / early June in the hope that this will prove to be about the right time for handover, although we haven't booked any flights yet. Anyhow, thanks for the information and we would be most grateful for any further thoughts you might have.

Hi,
We were on-site at the beginning of this week (Mon-Tue) for a quick look around. We looked at our apartment and the one in front of us as they were installing cables up the stairwell which made life a bit dangerous. We did have a good look around that end of the ground floor and all the "first fix" appeared to be complete (Floors, walls, ceilings, most plumbing and cabling) but apart from the kitchen units, which were about 90%, the "2nd fix" (doors, switches, sockets, taps, bathroom fittings etc) had yet to be started. The basements were pretty much in the raw state with some rendering to the end wall only, screeding required to the floor and plubming to be completed. Externally the lower terrace was to it's correct level, but not tiled and covered in rubbish and steps were yet to be finished.
Overall though we were quite encouraged and think that late May/early June should see completion, although I understand a further 6 weeks will be required for the certificate of occupation, so we are looking forward to perhaps mid-August before we accept the apartment.
We had some issues with the furniture package and it looks like we are going to have to pay a lot more for any kind of style, but at least we now know that we can change it.
I will try to post some photographs as soon as I have the time, but I guess everyone has had their fill of the outside of Mar y Sol and Brisas del Mar, but I have a few internal shots which may be of interest.

Hi,
Has anyone any information on block 1?
As you can see from my previous mail we were told just over 6 weeks ago that our apt (rear ground floor next to the pool) would be ready by now. Clearly it is not ,as I reckon the builder would be after his money, but from now on it is getting ever more likely that we will give up, demand our deposits back and go elsewhere. We are heartily sick of waiting for these incommunicative people to get back to us. A friend was buying through Parador, but after six months and no news demanded his money back and bought a verv nice resale (with more bedrooms) for the same money and we are thinking of doing the same. So if there is anyone in the know, We would appreciate some news.

Since my blow - up yesterday (also at the agent) we had a call today, saying the property will be ready in 2 weeks...watch this space!

You could always ask the builder if you can change your apartment for one of the key in hand properties they have on one of the previous phases of bungalows and apartments which are fully finished and ready to go?

Hi Alan,
Thanks for the injformation, I hadn't realised that. If things don't pan out this time I might look into it. I was just incredibly angry at the builders and wanted to let off some steam! I am in the construction industry in the UK and if we carried on this way not only would we be out of business, but more than likely, in court.
Any way, thanks, I have calmed down a bit now.
