Hi
Every 2 years your bank sends you a form to sign to confirm that you are a non-resident for tax purposes. We completed ours this year and sent it back to the bank a number of weeks ago but I can see no sign of the usual fee coming out of our account - nor can I remeber what they usually charge for this service.
Can anyone remember what this shows up as on your bank statement (had a look at our 2010 transactions and cannot determine what it was called or the cost).
Thanks
MG

Hi Mad Golfer,
I'm in the same position - sent off the certificate last month and haven't been charged as yet.
I am with CAM, now Sabadell CAM, (SCAM for short) and paid €28.32 in 2010 under the heading COM. SUJETA A IMPUESTO.
In 2008 it was €17.43 under the heading COM. TRAMITACION CERTIFICADO RESIDENCIA. Inflation eh?
Good luck, and please post here if you eventually see a deduction.

Thanks The Keeve
We are with CAM (SabadellCam) - maybe with the switchover it is taking time to process.
I am over this weekend and need to call to the bank for a new debit card so will ask and post what I find out.

AJW You are quoting the approx figure for the annual tax you have to pay via Form 210. You also have to have residency tax form completed every 2 years to maintain your non resident status. Your bank usually send you a form to sign every year and they make a charge for this. MG

Yip. I get the bank thingy too. My friends were referring to the larger tax bill as 'non residents tax' so I just assumed that's what the forum members were referring to. It's all much of a muchness to me. I just cough up as and when.........cheers for the info though.

Hi The Keeve
Form 210 has to be completed every year e.g. 2011 tax has to be paid by 31 December 2012 (ours is approx 105 euro per year and this is based on the cadastral value on your local council bill - the amount goes up if you have been renting out and you have to declare income). The non-residency tax certificate only has to be completed every 2 years - its the the spanish authorities way of confirming that you are not resident and as I mentioned before CAM bank send this to us every 2 years for completion and then they take the fee which as Steeley pointed out is just under 30 euro.
Hope this helps.

I would highly recomend a company called Spanish Tax Forms Ltd to sort out all your non resident tax issues. John has just charged me £123.65 which includes the annual tax of 105.60 Euros to sort all the forms out, present the documents to the relevant office and then have issued to me the completed tax certificates. All you have to do is supply him some basic information and pay him the money. You can contact him at enquiries@spanishtaxforms.co.uk
