Thats great news Maria...... now that you are confident that money can be reclaimed in court with no bank guarantee how about doing a no win no fee service(no money, no fee), I assure you you'll have loads of business as many people are scared at the thought of spending and losing more money

That sounds great.... but people need to be guaranteed of a win, that means payment would be taken from their reclaimed funds and not their pockets before hand - it isnt actually the payment of the money thats the problem it is the assurance that you are going to get it back in the first place and no win, no fee would mean you would only take it on if you were confident of retrieving funds as you wouldnt get paid if you didnt secure a refund.

Yes jackb, all I am after now is assurances, I have been to court and won the case.......no money, I have been to court again had an embargo placed on a property and still.......no money. The court system is joke and if any solicitors think people will spend more money on 'if' and 'maybe' then they are deluded. If they are confident they can get a satifactory outcome they would be only to willing to offer no win no fee and they would make a fortune. I for one would pay over the odds for that service I'm £20K out of pocket and alot better off than some I know.

so very true gales, i am owed 36.000 and offered solicitor 25% of all money won from HUMA, that 8.000, he turned me DOWN.
we have all been conned enough!!!! any honest solicitors who can REALLY get money owed out of HUMA set in touch with us honest buyers, you will make millions @ 25% no win no fee. better than sitting around for the next 20 years, for the spanish economy to recover, 30% unemployed..........
WE ARE WAITING !!!!!!!

I dont understand the reluctance! For the first few you would be dipping into your own funds but thereafter it would be win win. Solicitors charge enough you must have a pot that you can dip into to get the ball rolling. When somone does take the bull by the horns and offer this service they will be raking it in! Please take us seriously we dont mind paying we just want certainties and as jackb said, better to have work than not.

This whole situation is 'no hope, no hope'. Never mind ' no win , no fee. I am 53,000 out of pocket and the thieving b******s are getting no more from me. It seems to me the solicitors are as corrupt as everyone else!!

This is a sorry mess, and I really feel for everyone who has lost their well earned savings. We bought on ACC and put down 48k Euros but give up in 2007 and transferred to MCC and have enjoyed every holiday since. However we purchased a property from Huma for 127k Euros using the ACC deposit but today our property is only worth 80K if we are lucky.
So like many of you we are indirectly out of pocket, but trying to put a positive view on this situation you are in the pound (Euro) seats if you are still looking for a property. I wish I was in a position to purchase on MCC today with so many bargains.
I hope you all get a satisfactory outcome in the near future-

To a certain extent you are right Michael W. I have lost 65,000 euros to HUMA as they took my money and gave me no BG. The question is if ACC had been completed what would my Tarifa be worth now? A couple of years ago I went back to the ACC site and looked around the show houses. I couldn't believe how small they were compared to where I was staying in Mojacar. My Tariffa (excluding the taxes etc) was going to cost £80,000 I had paid (excluding the costs etc) £42000. The question is what could you get for £38,000 - to be honest not a lot. I believe to buy a similar property you would need probably £50,000 to £60,000. So despite the crash most people in my place are worse of than if ACC had been built and completed on time. Now if you were a person from a euro country you probably wouldn't be any worse off - the reason being that when I was buying on ACC and when it should have been completed the exchange rate was around 1.4 now it is about 1.18.
Having said that there still feels a big difference from losing out on buying a property due to market forces and losing out due to criminal acticities and fraud from HUMA.
