What happens when there is a queue around the ring road in summer if we search every vehicle?
This issue has been brought up at previous L2 meetings and will be done again at the next.

All the empty properties should be checked by security to ensure that nothing stolen is being stored inside of them.
All vehicles leaving the site need to be stopped and looked at by security. The guard is being paid to do a job not just sit on his bum and wave as people drive out.
ML are quick enough to chase us for our fees, now they need to act and get the message out that condado honest residents and their visitors will not tolerate anyone breaking into their homes and stealing.

Chaddy, I am aware that you are a president and therefore have contact and influence with the Mileniun people. I. Have some thoughts regarding your most recent post. I think that we would not have to worry about backlogs of traffic in summer because as there are so many people around, there is much less likelihood of break-ins. No real need to carry out the stop & search. During these winter months, there is much more opportunity for the thieves so could we apply the stop & search for say November thru February and only worry about vehicles going out ? Another thing that springs to mind relative to stone phils comments is that down at the bottom end of the inner ring road by jardines 1 you can actually get round the side of the fence easily and out onto the open road to Mazarron. I know, I tend to go this way when cycling out to camposol to trim a few mile off the journey by avoiding the long entrance boulevard. This an area where stolen goods could easily be passed on to a waiting vehicle, thus evading any security checks at gatehouse. Regards,

Unfortunately the thieves are busy all year, in fact thing get worse in the summer as that's when they seem to get holiday so have more time to come to Condado. Go back in the forum to Aug/Sep there are a number of post regarding thefts, in fact last sep/oct was when security had there last period of stop checks on cars leaving the resort. I assume they didn't catch anyone, or at least we .never heard of any, which kind of suggests that the goods arn't leaving site. The best way of avoid being burgaled is to ensure that your property is well locked up and secured. Either that or turn Condado into a prison, IRM complained a year or so ao that security was too tight here and putting visitors to the golf course coming, let's all recognised that we have one of the most secure resorts around. At all the others ou can just drive in and out, including both la torre resorts where I've driven into and out again without ever being stopped, say say "campo de golf" it's Spanish for open-saysame.. :-)

I was told by Millenium yesterday that we need to report the burglary ourselves to the police in Alhama oe get a keyholder to do it.
Can anyone offer this service as we can't get over at the moment due to work commitments?
Also in response to previous posts, whilst the current security checks are inobtrusive they are totally ineffective and are no deterrent at all. Even random checks would be an improvement if checking every vehicle is unmanagable but this time of year it shouldn't be a problem. Contractors carying out works on site could have all of the vehicles placed on a register and any not listed could then be checked for authenticity.,
As I mentioned last year low cost GPS equipped drones for use by security would be a superb deterrent. It is a grey area but if they are not recording and used by a legitimate security company for surveilance they should be allowed as the data protection act aparently did not foresee the use of them.

What could security have done differently?? What could your presidents, who mainly live in UK or elsewhere have done?? Our properies are our responsibility, the buck stops here!!! It is so easy with hindsight to say the properties should have had window locks, these sort of patio doors/ sliding windows have always been reknowned for being easily broken into! I live here and I have window locks!! We each have to take action to protect our own properties!! I would also suggest a meeting with our l2 presidents and ML to see what we are getting for our 427000 a year!! Its a crazy amount of money, each gate costs 95000 to be staffed for a year...approx...so where does the other 230000 go?? It is time we were given an exact breakdown of this bill, among others! Perhaps a meeting could be organised now in February during the school holidays???? We need cameras on the streets which are quieter ie do not back onto the main perimeter road! Money must be found in the budget, even if it means closing a gate part time??? Those of us who are residents need to be more vigilant...if there are strangers in the garden, speak to them...find out who they are! Get your cameras out and take pictures of suspicious vehicles or people!! When I empty my bins I walk my garden...if gates are open and i know the gardeners haven't been I take a closer look and close the gate again, it was said before that the burglars are believed to check the properties in daylight and leave something out of place or open the patio doors...when they return at night, if nothing has changed they know the property is empty! I believe those properties which dont back on to other properties are more vulnerable...this seems to have been the case in Jardines 5 and 8!!! Something has to be done, there is no point in blaming presidents or secuity...we need to stop this happening, with a budget of 427 k....there must be more that could be done. Questions need to be asked!! Can we please do something positive and lets see a breakdown of how our money is spent by ML on security????? I am going to Guardia Civil tomorrow to report stevevv's burglary, will see if they have any ideas!!!

Well - I have had a reply from Millenium. thought I would share it as it mentions that owners petitioned to have searches stopped.....!!!! Has anyone ever been searched coming in or leaving the resort??? Most owners I know would be very happy to be searched to keep the resort as safe as it can be. How do we petition to have the searches brought back (if they were done in the first place!?)
I do like that they are talking to the local police as I had read that the police had not been notified.....
Here is the reply I have had.....
The administration has already been in contact with the security staff and at the same time the security is working with the local police about the issue.
As far as the checking of the cars entering or going out of the Condado, there was a period when they have been checked but due to the petition of the owners, it had been suspended.

If you've got nothing to hide then it's really not a problem. A minute on your journey saves others like those who have been burgled having yo deal with all the inconvenience and time send money it takes to deal with something like this. My hand is up for voting for searches for all vehicles leaving the resort.

sorry to hear about your burglary. I know someone who does security locks for all doors and windows to stop them being opened. He seems to be the most reasonable. I think 20 euros a lock. Do know someone who paid 420 euros for the same thing with a change of locks on front door.
As heartbreaking as this is we are still very lucky, compared to most what about a neighbourhood watch scheme. I know we have security but all eyes on does help in these situations.

Went to Guardia Civil for Stevevv today...burglary cannot be reported until he or his lovely wife have been to the property and confirmed what is missing!!
They are more than happy to wait a few weeks for this to be reported.
The policeman says there are very few robberies in Alhama or Condado. I feel there are far too many, told him we had 4 last week. Curious as to whether others all reported???
Wondering about a Residents' association...who could report to residents, warts and all. Weekly meeting, with a L2 in attendance ....no ML...just owners!! A meeting where we can have security's budget explained in detail etc etc?? We are kept too much in the dark about how our fees are spent.... the level 3s are told nothing so no point in dealing with them....but a L2 has acces to answers that we need???
Rob of Condado Home improvements fits window locks...4 for 70 euro or 1 upstairs for 20, I think!! His email is louandlev@yahoo.co.uk. We live here and still have these fitted...peace of mind!!!

You have to do everything you can to try and make life difficult for the thieves. If you think of the size of condado and the amount of properties to patrol, there is not a hope in hell that the security guards can be in the right place at the right time, even if we had 10 times the number. I always thought the doors & windows are vulnerable and have also arranged to have the locks fitted. They are only as strong as the screws that fix them but it is just one more barrier in place. Anything high value outside like patio furniture - take it inside every time you go back home. I am amazed when I am there and see the patio furniture left out on a shuttered apartment. Chain your washing machine to the wall with decent fixing bolts and it just becomes that bit more difficult to thieve. Remember the reports of a year or two ago of several being stolen . The neighbourhood watch suggestion is spot on and I would expect us all to watch out for each other as a given. The actions of 2 little tinkers are commendable going round closing gates and looking out for anything suspicious. I know these are hard times in Spain and some are driven to desperation, but there have been, and always will be those that make a lifestyle choice of being a parasite and living off the hard earned possessions of others who have made their own sacrifices over the years to reap the rewards. On the subject of an owners ballot voting in favour of stopping the searches, I can say I have never been contacted by Mileniun regarding this and I get all communications via e-mail as far as I am aware, and have done ever since I registered my e-mail with them.

Don't post much on here these days but would just like to 'hopefully' put some people's mind at rest. Came back to my apartment reasonably late last night and sober I might add to find a security guard walking quitely round the gardens on his rounds. He came from nowhere and I nearly jumped on him the poor bugger!!
Yes we also need to keep our eyes and ears open but they are making the effort to patrol so it is definately something we can work from to improve with checks at the gates also.
I don't want to defend the security service but fairs fair the lad was out there last night

2littletinkers great comment's from a resident
clairehdp great ideas
inspectahomespain honesty great
chaddyowl Nice constructive comments as per by president lol
427000 a year for one man that jumps out in the dark lol
Let hope they are not on the take
Every vehicle which security cant see into the back of should be searched on the way out
no exceptions if they don't like it buy another car mostly business vehicles anyway
50 bikes don't get passed though the fence
This is my opinion British person living on condado ,trying to run a business and someone knows who
possible with security in tow probably one skint the another poorly paid
On the subject of an residents ballot voting in favour of stopping the searches why incase they got caught
