Why have our gardeners been sat on the roundabout at the complex entrance for almost the last 2 weeks, are they on strike ??

Hi Torros,

I was going to post the same comment.  Most days last week I noticed them sitting at the roundabout by the enterance.  Although I did notice that most of these intances were between 12:00 and 14:00 so I assumed they were at lunch.  But I also subsequently clocked then at 14:20 and 08:30 in the same position.

I wondered if their normal supervisor was on holiday ?

The gardens near my block have weeds and are showing neglect so its not as if they are short of work.

Perhaps we both email to A.E.A. with the same question?

The obviously have a new location for lazing about.

Whilst my wife and I were in DV in late Feb/ early March the gardeners were often to be found behind the paddle court smoking and sitting about at all hours.

They were meant to have pruned the tree over the paddle court in November, but instead butchered a tree alongside block 2.

We all need to email AEA.

Hi Guys

I have received a response from AEA and here it is :.........

There has been a big internal change within the gardening company and the president and the Administrator are waiting upon receipt of some documentation.

We are therefore aware of the situation, but thank you for letting us know.

Kind regards,
Valerie

My next question is " why were we not told of this BEFORE we have to find out and mumble about it ?"

Who the h*ll are the President and the Administrator ? you perhaps might know, but until now I have not been able to attend the coverted "Community Meeting" (some of us have to work you know !!).

The latest thing that I have seen is that more and more people are wearing "ROMAN" tee-shirts, the last one was cleaning a pool out from our terrace). and I do know this is Pacos company (I assumme you know Paco, he's the one to contact if something is wrong, I have been told by the AEA).

I feel that it is a case of the "Tail wagging the dog, and not the dog wagging its tail".

I have a list a mile long of things to be actioned, but no one is listening.

I will start writing my comments, but on an item by item basis so that we can answer them in a logical manner.

My wife and I want to live in a community where it is good to be and not just throw 277 euros in community fee out of the window every quarter.

To conclude I would also like to say that I would gladly like to see a "Club House" for residents, surely we could find a place on the "Top of the Hill" hopefully to keep us watered and fed. What do you think ?

Hi all,

[Torros - suggest you start a new thread on the subject of 'community member forums' etc/  Would be delighted to participate when on site.]

On the subject of gardening I got a similar note from AEA.

It seems that Reality Gardens ceased to trade and/or were acquired by another company (ROMAN?) but this new company has no contract with the community but expected to continue work uninterrupted - and so the usual gardeners turned up for work on site but were not allowed access - hence sitting on the roundabout outside.

The note is not so clear but here is the exact text.

"Please note the workers were not taking breaks for resting, but were forbidden to work on the community due to an internal change in the gardening company. The company they were working for has changed hands and therefore the contract which the community has with the company is no longer in accordance. The President gave instruction for no work to be done until the required paperwork was received, due to possible health or legal problems was anything to occur.

The case is certainly being looked at and different meetings held daily with different gardening companies."

My reading is AEA and the President were understandably taken by surprise on this matter and are acting professionally to deal with it.

Communications to the community could be better - they could have posted a notice on the AEA community site.  But I'm guessing it all happened suddenly.

Another topic for next months AGM?

Absolutley another point for the agenda, and lets not forget a reduction from the gardeners budget due to non performance of works.(Community Fees rebate ).

Thanks also for your support regarding my intention to post some other thoughts (of course all as seperate threads); and don't worry, its not going to be just an excuse to whinge. Hopefully it will be what I like to think of as problems with constructive critisism attached.

Warm regards
