Hi John and Diane

Theres another forum (don't know if I should mention it) called lamarinaforum.com and on there is a thread on Almoradi. It was on a while ago but if you look back a few pages someone has very kindly typed the bus timetable out. There's also a mention of minibus trips at very reasonable prices. Hope this helps.

Hi John And Diane

The mini bus service is run by Chris and Nicole, they also have a supermarket in Almoradi selling British food and newspapers, he also runs a property management company. I have used him several times and always found him to be reliable. He has an 8 seater minibus and charges 30euro pickup from Alicante, 40euro pickup from Murcia and 20euro return from Guardamar, Torrevieja ect., not bad if there are a few of you to share the cost. He has also started car hire from 15euro a day.

I do not have his contact details handy but they are on the other forum, I will post them here later on.

I have a bus time table but the times are incorrect, there is also a timetable in the window of the travel agents just past the bus stop but this is also incorrect unless it has been updated in the last 3 weeks.

Sorry I could not be more helpful but I'll be going over at the end of the week and hopefully be able to get an up to date timetable.

See you soon

Dave

Thank you Dave and Thank you Angie for your help, it is much appreciated.

I do know the site that you refer to Angie and have seen the information about the bus route. It only mentions the route to Alicante. I have looked at all the bus companies I can find in the Costa Blanca, but none seem to show a stop at Almoradi.

Dave I would very much like the contact details of Chris and Nicole as I have friends going out in September, but they do not want to hire a car. I thought I had seen a bus time table in the travel agents window, but was not to sure and could not remember any of the details. Sounds like it would have been a waste of time if I had anyway.

I see from your message Dave that you are going out in a weeks time, we will be there from the 12th August, and it would be nice to say hello if you are over there at the same time.

Thanks again for the help guys and girls, this forum has seems to do just what it is supposed to do!!!!

John

Hi All,

Forgot to say that the buses service Alicante, Torrevieja, Guardamar, Orihuela and Elche. As I said before I will try and get some more info on them while I'm over next week.

Has anyone taken out a Spanish mortgage?  I was advised not to but am now wondering whether it would be a good idea as the mortgage rates are constantly going up here.

Thanks

Sheila

Dear Sheila

We looked at both mortgages in Spain and the UK. We eventually opted for Scottish Widows Overseas service as they were cheaper on the interest rate and set up rates. At the time they saved us some 80 euros a month on repayment and about 750 euros in set up fees,

The transaction with them was seemless as they were happy to deal direct with our Spanish solicitors

Add to this that you are dealing with a UK based bank and they work UK hours it did make the whole transaction very straight forward. if you want some contact details I can supply or else just look them up on the web and give them call as they will quote you over the phone

Regards

Nick W

.

Hello all,

Arrived back from Almoradi on Saturday 25th August, after two great weeks in our new apartment.

The complex is coming along well with most of the outside of each apartment finished. While I was there I went inside the end row there still seems quite a lot to do inside, but I was told by Deago that they would all be finished on schedule. The new road that runs along past the main entrance is still just a dirt track. Deago said that the laying of the road was a joint responsibility with Idearco and the local authority.

My children were in the pool every day and loved it. The public stairs and floor areas are quite dusty because of the building work still going on, and due to the fact that there is no contractor to take on the maintenance and cleaning until all apartments are finished. Deago seems to be looking after the pool, but again I don't think this will be done regularly until the committee is set up and a pool contractor arranged. There have been some people that have had ear infections from the pool, but none of my family if six had any problems. Obviously the sooner the pool is looked after regularly the better. If you do have a problem you do not need to go to a doctor to get a course of antibiotics, you can go straight to the local chemist and pick them up for just a few euros. Not much was going on regarding building work while we were there as the month of August is a shut down for all of Spain.

A nice place to visit in the evening is the market in Guardamar on the hill leading down to the sea front past the park. There is also a small funfair and the market goes on until the early hours of the morning. Torrevieja has the same,

I have a couple of pictures of the apartments if any one wants them, but I spent more time tacking pictures of other places this time round.

I know a couple of you contacted me about possible apartment rental for when you come over to complete, just to let you know we taking 20% off our rental prices up to and including December of this year as the builders are still on site.

Well that's about all to report for now,

Hi all,

Just stumbled across this site by accident, we also bought here.and found out more in an hour than I have from the agent in a year, my name is Joanne and husband George,  from Belfast.  Our apartment is due for completion in October. After reading all the reviews it looks as if October will not be far out.  Just hoping it will all come together. We are looking at mortages at the minute, the agent can sort this out but the charges seem a bit high. Any advice would be grateful. Pictures on EOS look great.

Joanne and George

Hi everyone

Having just read the thread that Daniel is completing on Escalera 4 in October, we are getting slightly anxious as we are buying a place on escelara 3 and as of today Iberian have no idea when we are going to complete.  It should have been end of May.  Does anyone know if anybody had yet completed on this phase? I just want to get it sorted so that we can use it over the new year as we have aleady booked the flights!

We have not heard a thing from a solicitor either.........is this normal? Do we have to appoint a solicitor or do we automatically have the one from Iberian?

Feeling all a bit confused.com!

Thanks

Clare

Hiya all, my husband and I have brought on Vegamar and cant wait to get over and complete. Hoping it will be early october, just waiting for a valuation for the mortgage and then we should find out a date. Glad to hear the pool is finished not that we will want to use it in October probably be a bit on the cool side. Does anyone know if theres a comunual arial or do we need to have our own put up. We want to have sky tv installed. Also any advice on the air con would be great. We have been in touch with a couple from the uk who have moved over to the area. They are going to key hold for us and I think they also have others on Vegamar as well.

It would be nice if we could catch up with anyone else whilst we are there who have also brought on the same complex. We are on esc 3.

Has anyone also got any updated photos the last ones we had were the ones Atlas took and they were only of the side road near the garage entrance.

Debbie

Hi Debbie,

The arials that are put up by Ideaco are only for Spanish TV, you will need a new arial for British TV. We have had one put up, and we are located at esc 2. I have been told that you can share arials. If you want to send me a private message with your email address I will send you details of Aircon that we had installed. I also have pictures dating from early July to late August if you would like copies.

John

Hi Dave & June

Glad to hear you've got completion of the apartment. Whilst you're there would you have a look around escalera 5 for me please? Ours should be ready in October but its ok if its a bit later than that. We probably won't come and stay there till early next year anyway. If you get the chance would you take some pics for me, it would be much appreciated.  My husband, Gary also plays golf and I'm sure he'd be up for a game if we're around at the same time.

Good luck with the trip

Angie

Good Evening

At last we have received our letter to say we can complete, we are on esc. 3 which is just 4 months later than scheduled.  Due to work committments we cant get out there till mid- November to do the necessary.

We dont actually play golf, but are considering taking it up, but we do drink so we would love to join in with a glass or two of vino collapso!

If anyone will be out there around 11th - 17th November let us know and perhaps we can meet up.

Regards

Clare & Gord
