You're certainly making the most of the apartment - good for you! We have been told our apartment is now finished and we are planning to go over in January to sign up. I haven't heard from Dave and June since they said they had some photos - I hope everything is ok? Do you have any up-to-date pics? I think you already have my email address if you want to send them direct.

We can't wait to see the apartment again and we are planning our first break at the end of February so if anyone's around make sure you introduce yourselves.

Hi all June and myself have just arrived back from Almoradi we had a great time and are now getting the apartment something like habitable just a few more bits and peices and we,ll have a proper little home from home. I also went out recently on a golfing trip with my two brothers and nephew and played some fantastic courses the weather was great both times and a good time was had by all.Almoradi just gets better and better the more we explore it with some fantastic restaraunts and tapas bars and one or two really good english bars worth a mention for any foodies out there are El Cruce  , also Meson del buey and last but not least Silvianos of the bars Que Pasa just of the square does good burgers with proper chips and Viena also just of the square does good food with a great welcome from Heather and Derek, Also as you come into town on the left the bowling alley offers a fun night our favourite tapas bar is Angels well worth a visit as you venture further afield there are lots more bars ect any who likes a game of darts should visit the Red Dragon. as for the apartments completion according to Diego is on schedule the road still isn,t started but the pathways around the block are almost complete. Angie sorry about the photos but when it comes to computers i,m a bit of a ludite, and totally impacient if it dos,nt work the first time , your block is looking good and not far of complete. we fly out there again on new years day for one week and then on the 29th of feb for one week and hope to see some of you out there,just a quick hi to Deb and Paul hope to see you soon and now ill stop boring you all and sign of A MERRY XMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL June & Dave

Hi Everyone

We completed at last in mid-November and we are very chuffed with the place, but didnt spend anytime in Almoradi apart from taking stuff to the apartment as we stayed with friends in Villamartin.

We are going out on 29th December for a week with our friends to celebrate New Year, so if anyone is about give us a shout we are in Escalera 3.  We are hoping to check out restaurants, markets, fishing lakes and bars......watch this space!

I agree with the comments about the communal areas being really dusty and dirty and hope that this is sorted before the builders leave.

Has anyone else used Jeff the guy in Escalera 1 as their "key holder"?  We are going to use him as he is on site which is good as people off site dont come around as often as they say they will and this we have on very good authority as most of our friends on Costa Blanca are key holders and say that they only really go to properties if they are passing or have to get the place ready for rentals.

Congrats on your completion.

We are using Fred and Carol also on escalera 1, I did not have a chance to talk to Geoff when I was over but I hear he is a nice bloke and he helped my mum and dad when our appartment was broken into last September, the only reason I am not using him is that I did not have a chance to talk to him when I was over.

Hello all

I have just heard that Idearco may be in financial difficulty.  Their office in Benihofar has been closed and staff made redundant.

There have been some issues with water and electricity supply at developments in Algorfa which are still on builders supply, as we are at vegemar.

Does anyone else have any other information regarding this?  On another note - does anyone know if the road has been completed?

  Hi All

I have another update re the builders Idearco and the Vegamar apartments. 

Although it sounds like some staff have been laid off there are still some builder’s onsite finishing the road off. Also there are cleaners finishing off the last of the apartments, so it sounds like Idearco are still running to some degree.

 If anyone else hears any news please let us know.

Happy New Year All

Returned from Vegemar early hours this morning after spending a week out there and was gutted that we had missed the Three Kings Fiesta which started last night and carries on all day today, but we did stand in the square at midnight on New Years Eve which was a lovely experience, alot of people in high spirits drinking champagne and letting off fireworks and confetti poppers.

The weather was lovely, blue skies every morning............ah heaven!

We can tell you that the road has not been finished, but the pavements are in and the road now has a name............

As for Idearco being in difficulties, wehave not heard anything about this.  There were a lot of workmen on site, lots of cleaners milling about and quite a few Idearco vehicles parked in the road for most of the week.  Diego is due back on site on the 24th Jan for 2 weeks and then the development should be handed over to us residents in February.

We actually appointed Carol and Fred as our key holders as wethought their services are very professional. Carol is lovely and helpful and both Carol and Fred are very well informed with what is going on with the development.

We cant wait to get back out there.....roll on April!

I am new here but I'm due to complete in Feb and its so good to read everyones comments and also advice on how to be vigilant. Ive already learnt a lot on EOS so im very grateful for this site. I'm in Escalera 3 by the way! I cant believe we have a road name ( its all too exciting! Hiya Guys Ive not been on here for a while. We are due to go over to our apartment on 16th Feb just for a few days. Has anyone got anymore news about Idearco being in finacial trouble and does it in anyway effect us. When the developement is handed over to the residents what happens then. Will there be a residents commity. Let me know any information anyone has regarding this.

Is anyone else going to be there week 16th feb it would be good to chat. Also we have keyholders but Im not sure that they are checking the apartment every week can anyone recommend someone on site who will keyhold and do the holiday cleans for me if we have people renting from us.

Just got back from vegamar today,builders were still working when we left this morning.

The road is not finished yet and the communal areas could do with a good clean

Spoke to our solicitor about the situation with idearco she did not seem that bothered she said that as we had paid the 900 euros we would be connected to the water and the electric as this was in the intrest of the builder

Dont worry anyone who missed the 3 kings parade, it started early, lots of people missed it, and it only lasted 10 minuetes. All who we spoke to that saw it last year were really disapointed and very disgruntled.

As we live permanently on site, we  have heard the rumours about Idearco financial troubles, but the builders are still about and all seems to be carrying on as normal, however we did bump into Barry (the man who sold us the appartment from orion) at a darts match,  and he is sueing them for not paying his  commision.

As i am new to eye on spain, not quite au fait with how it works, but if wants any updates on vegamar, will always try and help.

Hi All,

Can anyone help with this problem regarding the NIE number. I have already applied for the number in person in Elche last year. I was told by Atlas they would collect after a few weeks but I now know they did not obtain as they failed to take my authorisation to collect the number. They now say I will have to collect in person. I am in the middle of arranging a mortgage and they require my NIE for the mortgage. Is there not anyway for Atlas to obtain my NIE on my behalf? Can I not receive the number without me flying out to Spain?

Hello All,   

  It’s been a little while since I have visited the forum, I expect many of you have now completed. Does anyone know if the road has been finished yet, and is the place looking a little cleaner? Also has anyone had any news regarding the setting up of the residents committee?  I would love to have some updates if any one has been out there recently. The last time I was there was late November.  

We have some friends who want to join us at the Vegamar apartments in August, the dates are arriving 13th depart 24th August. Would anyone be interested in renting their apartment out for this period.  They are a non-smoking family!

Just a quick update for you, we live permanently on vegarmar in escalera 1.

 no the road has not been finsihed and no sign of it being done as yet, the communal areas still need to be cleaned, and the outside door locks do not work.

a bit of a worry is that idearco do appear to be in financial difficulty, to the extent that the benejofar office is now closed, Diego is no longer working on our site, and is in fact gardening in benejofar, and does not want to know if we tell him about problems, yesterday we got a number for any queries in Alicante.  This number is 0034-965 218 449

sorry its not such good news, but the appartments are really nice, so hopefully it will all work out.

we are coming over sun for week our appt is on esc 5 concerned re situation re ideaco do we have residents committee yet any update re cleaning and road

There is no residents commitee set up as yet, as we understand this does not happen until the builders hand the site over, which as yet they have not done. the road is not being done at present, there is no one on site to ask, and it still needs a good clean.  i believe in esc 5 & 6 there are still items to be done.

we live permanently on site in escalera 1, perhaps we will meet when you are over.

Hiya all, my hubby and I are over for a few days on 16th feb Ive been in contact with my solicitor in spain with regards to where we stand legally. I will post whe I hear anything. I hope they get the road finished soon I have let my apartment for a week in May and wouldnt be happy if its not finished by then.

With regards to the committee do we know how we elect a president etc.

Hiya update on what my solicitor has said. Aparently the builder has to leave a guarentee with the bank when they get the permission to build so that if any thing happens theres money there to finish the development.. So fingers crossed if the worse happens the road will get done.

We live on vegamar, and although our solicitor did ask to see the bank guarantees when we paid our stage payments, i dont think we ever got any copies. other residents here are asking if anyone got a certificate of habitacion, but we diddnt, one person has spoken to his solicitor about this, he has said we will not get these until the development is finished and handed over to the residents.

re questions about the comitee to be set up, all legal advice state this commitee should not be set up until the site is finished, otherwise if a comitee is set up before, the owners then become responsible for the cost of finsihing off any works.
