Hi Everyone
i am just writing to say that i will not be posting the big updates on this site anymore, if anyone would like them please email me at vegamar1@yahoo.co.uk with your name and address here at vegamar, i will then add you to the owners emails, and you will get regular updates of what is happening here at the moment.
sometimes there are items that we dont want printed on an open website, also soon thanks to one owner we will have our own website, so i will let people know when this is up and running.
Look forward to meeting you all at some time.
can i also just add that owners who have not yet paid their 260,00 fees, will soon have thier water cut off as the deadline is monday. Email me on the vegamar address if anyone has any particular difficulties in getting the money here for that time.
kind regards
carol

This might seem like a silly question but when we visit the apartment we turn the boiler in the bathroom on and leave it on the whole time for our stay and only switch off when we leave to come home. But someone said to me that this is really hard on electricity but i thought if the boiler was on the whole time it would cost less than constantly turning on and off each day and having to heat the water from scratch each time? What do other people do?

hi
we do the same , as its supposed to cost less as the water stays hot .as having to heat up full boiler each time you need water this must use more electric

Hi all
Just got back after a great week, and the pool is working again. The only blot on a lovely holiday was the security issue Mel and Janet had an attempted break in ,the theives managed to jemmy the security gate and had started on his door but must have got disturbed Mel was out for a meal with his family at the time and found the gate open and jemmy bar marks on his door. So the sooner the new front gates are on the better. On a lighter note the weather was great and we played two great golf courses La Finca and Lo Romero both worth a knock for all you golfers. just one more thing can anyone tell me what IMPUESTO RENTA Y PATRIMONIO is please. Well see you all soon Dave

Of course you switch the boiler and the water off when you leave for longer time. Switcing off every day doe not increse the electric use but you do not gain any significent amount of money but loose confort. The only way to minimice the cost is to use less hot water.

Hi
I also have been charged for this tax for 2007 even though we only completed on our apartment on 14th November that year. My solicitors Aroca were no help when I asked them why we had to pay this. I'm confused and would appreciate some advice.
Thanks
Alan & Terry

Hi Alan and Terry
My understanding is that this tax is payable on a calendar year basis and is payable in full regardless if you took ownership of your apartment at the the start of the year or towards the end in your case

Thanks for that Furry. Maybe if someone from Atlas had mentioned that we would have put off completing on our apartment until January but of course no one did. Par for the course in this case.
Regards
Kathryn

Evening All
We attended the last very lively meeting. It was well attended by alot of English owners and also the Spanish. Carol the President is on 1 weeks holiday and will be available again on 2nd August. She will have a copy of the minutes at that time and if you contact her directly she will let you have a copy.
I would say that the main things that came out of the meeting was that the budget was approved, the Spanish owners have asked the English owners to remove their TV dishes from the communal masts ASAP as they think there is a problem with them and the signal for Spanish TV but one of the English owners disputed this claim, anyway we still have to remove our dishes.
The pool is working and is clean, the pool rules have now been posted up at the side of the pool. The security gates are on and the intercoms are working well. Apart from the communal stairwells being very dirty it was all very positive out there.
For your info, we tried the Wok Buffet up at Guadamar and would not recommend it to anyone.
The weather was glorious and we cant wait to get back out there.
Big THANK YOU to Carol, Melvin and Juan who have the thankless task of getting everything sorted out for us out there, we all really do appreciate what you are doing for us.
Clare and Gord

hi
all at the vegamar
expect that you have all received email informing you of the pool rules
my personal opinion is that they are ridiculous so we can only drink water in the pool area
we can't relax with a beer or have a smoke, the kids can't have a soft drink, this not what i expect of a holiday home
reason given they attract wasps and ants well so does food and sweets and ice creams are we allowed to eat in this area
these rules are not acceptable as far as i am concerned
how many owners have been asked or voted on these new rules, not me ! if the majority of owner agree the i will except and sell up i am not prepare to holiday in colditz
i have paying guests to help pay for the up keep of the apartments what do i tell them they only drink water while relaxing around the pool with the kids
Christ they are on holiday!!!!!
other apartments complexes have rubbish bins with ash trays round pool area and it is hosed down at night,, in ten years of renting private apartments
I've never seen rules like this
does anybody else feel this way
the committee has always had my full backing and still will but not on this issue
i feel strongly about this that i am considering with holding my community fees
regards
