Hi Louise. Just wondering did it take long for electricity and other utilities to be set up after you got your keys. Our solicitor is hopefully that we should get keys this week (fingers crossed) as we are heading out on Friday for 10 days and will be staying with friends but it would be nice to have utilities set up asap

Hi Sandra,
Have you actually completed yet? Our completion day was moved back several times. Everyone said that was because it was August, and everything takes ages in August. From official completion to electricity connected, it was about 5 days.
What did take a while was hot water. Our solar panels (they heat the water) weren't connected in our block. Apparently, some are, some are not. You might want to find out about yours because that took about 3 weeks.
Let me know if I can answer anything else!

Hi Louise. Solicitor is hoping to complete this week but at least now after reading your post I won't get my hopes up too much. That's good to know about the water. What block are you in? We are purchasing Malasia 5. I'm booked to back out end of November so if it's not ready this time round. Hopefully by November we should be in. (Fingers crossed) can you recommend good furniture stores.

Hi Sandra,
We are Malasia 2!!
You never know, it might all move quicker at this time of year!! We didn't get a furniture pack, we got everything from IKEA Murcia and Leroy Merlins, down the road in Cartegena. There is a big home shopping area there, including Carrefour, electronic shops, etc.
Lots of people do go for packs, but I don't know much about them!

Oh we are very close to each other. Maybe we'll bump into you next week when we are out there (if we get keys). Thanks for the furniture info. We are not going to go with furniture pack either as we plan to spend a lot of time out there plus like you I'm not to sure about the furniture packs.

Hello,
Can I please ask how much the community fees are per month at oasis. Any details on approx how much any other standing charges are at Oasis would also be appreciated.
We are considering either Oasis at HDA or somewhere like this on a golf complex around the Murcia area, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanks again.

Hi Louise
Can I ask did your key holder organise someone to look at your solar panels (for hot water) or did you have to arrange someone yourself. Also was your air con working or did you get someone to check that out as well. Is your key holder on the complex. Tried to send private message to you but for some reason It won't allow me to.

Hi Gary+Ali
Sorry can't help you with the community fees all we have been told is that they are not set yet (not sure how true that is)

The community and IBI, local rates are already been estimated and published and on the price lists for Oasis apartmemts and vary depending on location and size of the apartmemt
The fees are paid annually
For the community fees, between €1320 - €1620 per annum
The IBI which we would see as the rates paid to the town hall for local services €575- €720
Chances are the IBI which is fixed by the Town Hall is right but it is really only when the community of owners is setup that the community fees can be properly set based on income and expenditure

Hello.
Thank you for the posts in reply to our question about the community fees. They seem quite high, but hopefully could that be because a lot of the homes are not sold yet so the conribution may be only higher for now.
We are due out on Sunday for a few days to view, so we will check it all out then. We were meant to be viewing with International Homes Group but after having been booked with them for months knowing where we were looking to buy, they suddenly told us today that they can no longer do the inspection trip as they dont cover Murcia area.
Thankfully Blue Med Invest have agreed to help us by now taking over the inspection viewings. With a bit of luck the weather will be nice and we will find the home we are looking for. Cheers for the help and any other advice on HDA will be greatly appreciated.
Gary & Ali.

Hello,
We loved the apartments at Oasis when we visted and we have also bought. Going through the process now, so any advice on furniture, plunge pool heating, local services etc, is greatly appreciated.
looking forward to being out there in the sun. By the way will anyone have teenagers out there as our 13 year old boy just wants to spend his time out there playing football and the 18 year old lad will be popping out now and again.
Thanks
Gary & Ali

Congrats Gary & Ali on your purchase. Check out home-space.es for cleaning, plunge pool, air con servicing and other stuff as well. We are dealing with Bev at Jewell furniture for most of our furniture but we also purchased other bits at a commercial park on the way into Cartegena ( it's massive you'll probably spend most of the day there.)
No kids but if any of your kids like golf they can join us anytime.
Sandra & Phil

Hi will took a quick peek at the El Oasis apartments and were impressed when we visited while on holiday in October this year. We have just booked to visit and stay for 2 nights in December to hopefully put a deposit down on one.
I am interested in anyone that has purchased one what you went for - ground 1st floor corner etc and if you sorted finance out in Uk or went for a Spanish Mortgage. We are thinking that the pound will hopefully increase in the next few years and so may be more beneficial to take out a spanish mortgage and would like to pick your brains on what this process is like.
If you can help please get in touch
thank you

Hi Cescacharl,
They are indeed gorgeous apartments. I would not recommend a Spanish mortgage unless you go directly through the bank selling them. We used a preferred lender of our agent, and we are now without an apartment and upfront fees we paid. Had hoped to finalize in the coming weeks. We had selected a first floor unit as we thought it would be better as a lock and go. Sandra on here used La Vida, and loved working with them.
Best of luck to you.
Shon

Hi Cescacharl
We went with first floor corner apartment. The Agent we used was La Vida but we were cash buyers so can't give advice about getting a mortgage but I definitely agree with Shon go through the Bank selling them for the mortgage and query all fees that you are asked to pay upfront.
