Bad weather damage to car during December

My car was one of many  damaged by the heavy rain mid December. My car is parked when I am not in spain, in a private company car park near San Javier airport 

Has anyone else had difficulties with getting their claim dealt effectively by local government.(  consorcio )

My mechanic in Spain has been told by the assessor that the floor covering ( carpet) in the car which was totally water damaged, will not be covered through this claim and therefore not replaced. The airbag unit which was also damaged will be covered by the claim

In addition me the client apparently has to pay the mechanic before claiming the money back from consorcio.

 I would appreciate any advise from someone also going through this process.

If you have legal advice available with your lawyer let them deal with it, my car is also parked near San Javier airport and I thought it was also damaged but I was one of the lucky ones.
