Dear All
If you have not already received a communication - please be aware that the administrators office are contacting owners - asking for them to advise if they agree for the Sky installation to be done.
There is a degree of urgency for a decision to be made on this - for the owners who are dependant on Sky being connected for their summer bookings.
They have a quote - in the region of € 8,200 Euros - for the installation of the system.
If 100 people want the facility - that will mean an individual 1 off cost of approx € 82 Euros.
Once the system installation is done, it will cost each apartment owner a further € 190 Euros - for connection to their apartment, and then you will have to buy a Digibox (approx € 225 Euros).
So - it will cost in the region of € 500 (assuming that 100 owners elect to have the installation) & obviously will cost a little less if more people want it.
It would normally cost at least this - for individual Sky connections, and current legislation will not allow for individual owners in complexes to have separate dishes (can you imagine what the complex would look like?)
Owners in middle floors of Muirfield, Royal Lytham & Pebble Beach (south west facing) - with only a terrace to locate a dish( i.e not roof or garden) - would not even be able to get a signal as they are facing in completely the wrong direction.
Please contact the administrator as soon as possible by email - to confirm that you want this installation to go ahead.

Once the installation is approved - work can start, and hopefully everyone should be able to get Sky in time for summer holidays and bookings.
I have been informed of the importance of having UK tv in order to generate rentals.
If holidaymakers are searching for apartments - they will always choose ones with Sky tv , above the ones which don't.
A separate bank account is being set up within the community to deal with this Sky situation.
You will be sent the details for payment via the administrators.
The information I have from the administrator is that In the case of owners who do not choose immediately to contribute - but decide to at some later date - the same charge will be made for the installation & these funds will be held in the Sky bank account to cover for future repairs, modifications or improvements to the installation, thereby only benefiting the owners who paid to have the installation in the first place !!
Constitutionally - this should have been voted for, but a minority of owners ( ok- they might not want sky) - merely said that those who want Sky should pay for it. This is something which needs to be addressed in all future meetings.
If any of you require any further information on, in particular, the Sky issue, please contact the administrators office.
Many thanks to Jeannie for all her hard work and perseverance in trying to bring, especially this matter, and of course other issues to a hasty conclusion and for her translation skills when I was at meetings with Jose which was much appreciated.
