Hi all,
Regarding Haydn's latest update, we agree entirely with the contents. The land surrounding the complex is a mess with builders materials and rubbish i.e. bits of plastic piping, broken tiles, concrete blocks, pallets, wooden frames, etc, etc. and we believe this will not be removed. The swimming pool is filthy, and the bare concrete walls detract from the whole complex. In solidarity with the delegation going to BMS on Thursday we are going to send an email to BMS to express our dissatisfaction with the state of the complex and outline any problems we can think of and any outstanding problems with our apartment i.e. gaps under doors, unpainted handrail, etc and we feel it would be a good idea if as many people as possible could do likewise.
Regards,
Dave and Maura (17A)

Yes folks we think this is a good idea we will be coming on saturday, but we will email bms and inform them of the information we have recieved from our neighbours in regard to the state of the complex. We will urge them to take action on this straight away. There will be a number of children in the complex during the holiday season including my own child and the debris and mess which has been left surley makes it very dangerous for them.
Cheers

With you Guys all the way on this. We've sent an e-mail tonight, to Maria (the missing Link), so it will be there for her to open when she arrives in the morning.
We have had no response to e-mail communication from her for over a month.
Did not indicate in the e-mail that anything was happening tomorrow. Nice suprise for them.
Way to go Guys, but keep calm and let one person do the talking.
Best of Luck,
Barry + Pam 18A

We have also sent e mail expressing concern about state of site, swimming pool, and the lack of painting/rendering etc - just the things Haydn listed really. We never did receive a reply about our water meter, though we know it was sorted out. I don't know if they are even looking at their e mails!!!!
Have a good day, and I hope that no one has been directly affected by the awful floods in some parts of the UK.
Linda

Hi all Los O's,
Yes i agree that BMS are some what short on the responsibility side of things, I still have issues with them and will be expressing my disapointment via my solicitor.
You have my support and if you need and email to provide as evidence let me know. Best of luck.
Don

Monday 2nd July is our first visit since signing for the property. The notes re the site are not very encouraging! We will be on site till Saturday July 7th - then back in September for an extended holiday. Are any of you around next week?

It does seem that, as we feared, now BMS have our money they are dragging their heels over fulfilling their part of the contract in so far as providing a finshed, clean and workable community complex. I hope that the 'visitation' by Los O's recently would give them the kick up the butt that they need. But what if it doesn't? What are our rights in this? Can we take a group action against them?

Could someone let us have BMS email address. We are still not sure whether or not we have had our gas connected. They attempted it a couple of weeks ago when we had friends staying at the apartment but there was a gas leak and they said they would have to come back. As we are not there we do not have any way of knowing whether or not this has been done. Many thanks

Hi Maureen & Alan,
Assuming that you have a direct debit set up already with Repsol (and have had first payment taken) then I would recommend you ask your Spanish bank to intervene and let them chase Repsol - if you get nowhere with that route then you could also ask your solicitor to contact BMS to see if Antonio can help to sort it out (he helped us with our water connection last Friday by phoning the water company direct). If you haven't changed your locks yet then Antonio could go in and see if the gas people have been as there'll be a report posted under your door.
Good luck ...

Thanks to all who offered assistance in sorting out our gas issue. I am sure you will all be surprised to know that Maria did in fact reply to my email!! Interpreting what she meant was a little difficult but I think she meant that it has been sorted. Linda, thank you for the offer to help - if you wouldn't mind checking it for us when you are out Haydn has the key. Many thanks

Hi All Los O's,
Is the pool in operation yet?, Has the surrounding area been improved, or is it still a collection of building materials left over.
Regards
Don

Hi Terry,
I think it's safe to say that BMS have done b****r all on any snagging (at least that is what our experience is - we had a list of about 15 items and none of them have been done - not surprising when you hear that most of the builders have now left the site - leaving just Antonio to sort out problems like water and gas connections). We will be emailing our solicitor to find out how we can get some of our snags done - things like refixing broken or missing roof-tiles is beyond my capability - or desire - to do !).
I know some people have bought draft excluders for a few euros from Lopez.
Regards
Dave

Hi all, I hear from Sols and Medsea that builders are leaving the site at the end of the week and tomorrow and Friday will be disconnecting everyone from the "builders" electricty connection. The plan is to get the electricity company connections in place, again, tomorrow and Friday. Hope this goes well! as we are due out on Sunday and don't fancy having no electricity (wife likes her cuppa in the morning).
Any updates over the next two days as to how this is proceeding would be much appreciated.
regards, Lewis

Thanks Lewis, the electricity seems to be correct and changing over as you say, the builders are going on their August break.
Marinasol meeting is next Thursday 26th, ( Dave ? ) so all who can please attend.
First floor apartments have had the bannisters removed, treated and replaced and look good, so I'm informed.
Now have a good time ya all hear

Just wondering how Marinsol can be having a meeting next Thursday when they have still not made contact with ALL of the owners? I certainly have not heard a word from them and, if it wasn't for this forum, would never even know they exist or represent our community in any way! This does make me a little suspicious of their efficiency right from the off. Luckily, I have enough confidence in my fellow Los Olivions to feel that those who can be present will make a sensible input to the meeting on behalf of myself and anyone else who hasn't even been invited. At least Marinasol haven't deducted anything from our bank account.....yet. I suppose that is one benefit of being ignored!

Like you, we have heard nothing from Marinasol. We are also a little concerned about the electricity connection if BMS are leaving the site.
As we are not there, and will not be until later in the year, we will have no idea whether or not this has happened.
Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine.

Hi All,
I must be one of the unlucky one's, I have been contacted by Marinasol, and paid 100 euros initial setup charge for the community. It would be nice if they had an agenda for the meeting that could be emailed to everyone.
(So is it paid up members only in the pool, ha ha.)
See you soon.
Don

Hi all, I'll have to remember to keep a better eye on my bank a/c. Looks like water, gas and 100 euro for Marinasol have all gone out in recent days. I've haven't heard a peep from Marinasol but will be about next Thursday so more than happy to come along to the meeting.
Just heard that electricity hasn't been connected this week and Builders will be back Monday to swop it over from builders elec to the designated supplier.
regards, Lewis
