job done,yeeehhhaaaa.

hi all,i am now the proud owner of my own place in the sun[and the wifes of course],all signed and sealed,now i just gotta pay for it!!!!.need to sort out the rest of our furniture in july when we out for holiday.what i could do with is hints where to go for telly/cd player/and all the other housey things we gotta get.by the way during my visit to cayetano i seen 3 or 4 ads for keyholding,was given a leaflet for "taxi",several cards for any job you can think of -theres a man who  can do it in cayetano,so really anyone anticipating going out there and maybe picking up some work for some extra euros unless you got a real good angle everything is covered. i am just gonna be the local beer taster and i will do it for free !!!!!!!!!.ADIOS AMIGOS....HIC!!!!!!!.

Are you out there permanently? Wherabouts on the site are you??

Parque Mediterraneo at Cartagena, just off the motorway is really good for shopping - big new Carrefour, several big electrical shops including Media Mart, home shops, Leroy Merlin (similar to B&Q) etc.

There is also a brand new shopping mall (bigger than Dos Mares) next door to the Carrefour.

Ikea at Murcia is good, but don't go on a Saturday like we did originally as thats when all the Spainish go & there was a really long queue to get in the store. Opposite Ikea is another shopping mall !!!!!!

Hope this helps - if you want any more info on furniture shops, household shops etc just let us know - I think we've been everywhere!!

Can i work with you tasting the beer sounds like a great job.

the site is looking very nice and will only get better i cant wait to get my house.

As some of the others have said, there are quite a few places around, but would strongly recommend Eroski at the Dos Mares shopping centre on the 332 near San Pedro for white goods. Good selection, decent prices/  Lighting would also go to Ikea. Know its a way out, but easier to make the choices there, plus there is a guy on site who can fit them at a very reasonable cost (half of what everybody else was quoting)  Leroy Merlin down at Cartagena great for the shower screens, but 50 euros for delivery is the only set-back. If you can get them into your car, then well worth-while. Just got back this last weekend myself having put some of the furnishings in - but did go to 7 different outlets to pull it all together, making a good saving in the process. Certainly worth looking around. Hope you have a good trip out there.

Good point about the shower screen We managed to get it in a Ford Focus Wagon. Anything shorter than this is no good!!
