Having received our update from Parador I have to say I don't think we were any further forward than we were 2 months ago. Has anyone logged onto the ACC website? Although it states in the letter that confirmation of "Definitive Approval" was posted there I have checked and can only get a progress report of our property which hasn't been started, we are on manzana 26, and more photos of the site.
Does anyone know the proposed date of the planning commitee meeting? What sort of time frame are we looking at if the plan is approved? Parador state that "it is anticipated that any remaining procedures will be dealt with swiftly by the town council"
Considering our contract was up (+ 6 months) in April 2007, we still have not been given much information, and I have had more luck in finding things out via ths forum.

Bri,
Basically, parador are confirming nothing new from what has been said on this forum, but suggest things will be approved this autumn:
" Some but not all of the reports which the town council are required to include in their new town plan submission to the regional goverment have been recieved. The required reports are from various bodies which are responsible for the road network (national, regional and local), water supply, the environment, housing, mines and the coastal areas. I can tell you that, importantly, the water and environmental reports have been received."
"You may have already seen confirmation on the ACC website www.almanzoracountryclub.net that the regional government has agreed to include the "Definitive Approval" of the town plan on the agenda of its first available Provincial Planning Committee meeting. I understand that the town council expects to be able to submit the plan, with all the reports attached, for definitive approval in September so the town plan should be approved by the Provincial Planning Commitee in the autumn."
"Assuming that is the case, it is anticipated that any remaining procedures will be dealt with swiftly by the town council. The building contractors, Ferrovial, who have continued to carry out maintenance and security on the site, will then be able to commence work immediately."
Let's hope that Parador have gained this info from the horses mouth so to speak and good news is just aroung the corner.

Are we all just waiting for September????? I am still a bit uncertain about the slippage to autumn rather than September. Autumn could be November!!
Hope everyone is enjoying the better weather here in the UK anyway!!

We visited Almeria for a week and got back on 30th August having seen our solicitor and spoken with some agents etc in the area.
Our Solicitor said that...
Planning permission had been turned down twice in relation to this development.
If there was not an acceptable application from Huma by the new year then a approved plan would be presented to Huma who would have the choice of building according to that plan or not building at all.If your particular Apartment or villa etc is not on that plan then im afraid you will have to purchase another elsewhere within the development.( If there is one available)
We spoke to several local agents. They all said the same thing with the exception of one.The odd one odd said ACC will not happen. It is too political and gone on too long.
The remainder said it will get built eventually but nothing like what was originally planned. They all thought it would be some time in the future but not sooner.
The closing line from all persons we spoke to was that this development went ahead on the nod that licences would be granted even though it was non building land. The change in Political Party brought it all to a grinding halt.
Started process for recovery of our money.Huma had 14 days to respond.
Guess what ? They didnt respond.
Have now paid 2000 Euros for hire of lawyer to start legal proceedings.
The good news? Found a 2 bed apartment in TURRE near MOJACAR which has air con, is furnished, with parking, communal pool and its cheaper than ACC !
There are properties to be had so stay positive!

We will soon know!!
Your Agents have made a sale!!
Up to now it seems that Huma have been relatively easy about getting out when contracts have expired but when they do re start that may change
Most of us are 'in reality' looking for a good profit in a nice location...and for many a new 'life style'
Wish you well...hope 2000 € is well spent!

AndyLynn - well done!!! Turre is lovley - and I think someone on this site (it may even have been me!!) suggested this as a place where property can be bought at excellent prices!!! The views of Mojacar from Turre are lovely.
I am sure you will have many happy holidays there, and come 2009, you are just as likely to be sitting on an 'nice profit' as if you had stuck with ACC - and you will have had quite a few holidays there.

Stupid to ask, but your solicitor did check that the land, that your new apartment is built on, is shown as being urban on Turre's last PGOU (not the current one that has yet to be passed)? I checked with my solicitor a couple of weeks ago (when I was out there), and she said that most of the the recent builds in Turre (built within the last 8 years) were not built on urban land (as shown on the last PGOU), and that the Andalusian Government would get around to 'sorting' them (and the thousands of other 'not properly licensed' builds in the area) out in the future. She seems to think that this will take the form of a 'substantial' fine (payable by whoever is the owner at the time). But I'm sure that this isn't the case here, as 'once bitten twice shy'.

You are right - there are some builds in Turre - or at least just outside Turre which are in the same boat as ACC - building has been stopped/no electricty/habitation licences. The apartments in Turre itself are not included in this, or at least the ones we looked at had electricy etc and licences in place. I think the region has been very badly hit, and this in itself might well ensure that noone gets any profit for a very long time, until confidence in the region is restored!!! Parador apparently now only have a skeleton staff in the region, and some of the other big agents seem to be waiting to see how the dust settles.

tick tock, tick tock, tick tock, were all playing a waiting game now and I think if we haven't heard anything positive by the end of October then you'll see more and more people jump ship.
Some good positive and negative posts on here, the negative ones seem backed up by some experiences of people talking to agents out in Almeria etc but now we'll see where the real answers and action from Huma, Parador and whom ever over the coming weeks.
I'm still going with the opinion of why would Huma still be promoting this still so positively as with Parador if in their heart of hearts knew it was a no goer..??!!.

I am not in the building profession so the following is not known as fact to me but does seem realistic. It was relayed by a third person.
When building stopped it had obviously reached a particular stage. The materials/structure at that time was not intended to be left for 2 plus years in its current state.
It has been exposed to the climate and there are sections/construction points that will or SHOULD be taken down and re-done.
It is STRONGLY advisable to engage a structural engineer/surveyor to check your build prior to taking it over for a check of defects or faults in the structure due to this lay off.
Will HUMA do this or just bang on where they left off?
(Dont be suprised if its bang on where they left off..... if building ever starts again).

Don't know where the information has come from but our solicitors have today told us that planning permission WILL NOT be granted for ACC.
Of all the information that I've heard, or not heard, over that last few months, I'm inclined to believe this more that anything else.
As Gasman says the tock is ticking, and the tick is tocking, it's still very quiet. and September is disappearing

Hi Mike. Your solicitor is mistaken. Planning permission has been granted for ACC (planning comes under the local Town Hall). It's the PGOU for Cuevas that has yet to be passed. The permission may have to be rescinded as a consequence of the PGOU, but, for the moment, ACC has planning permission.
