Dear all

I thought I would share the experiences of my recent trip to our apartment.

On first arrival I was very pleased however when we actually got inside we found the wrong furniture had been delivered!! The sofa bed was something out of a 1970's caravan, quite horrendous & also not all the light fittings we paid for had been installed.  This really put me off....I know they are only minor things & easily sorted out but when I had my parents with me who were visiting for the 1st time I was quite upset that it wasn't "right".  The correct furniture was delivered a couple of days later!

We met a lovely couple who live on our landing & they were very helpful. To be honest without them, that first day would have been an utter nightmare.  Our next problem was the electricity....none working in the lounge or small bedroom.  After 3 trips to the builders office & promises that the electrician would be coming .... we actually left for home 4 days later still without electricity (luckily the couple we met are going to hold our key & so hopefully it will get resolved).

On the whole we were very pleased with our apartment & even had time to go to the pool.

Sandra

PS - we are having a grill fitted as apparently there have been a number of break ins.....!!!!!!!

We arrived back from Spain yesterday, having spent a couple of weeks over there.  Yes there have been three break-ins I think in blocks 3 and 4 but having past the entry doors to block three twice late evening and seeing them open I am not surprised, we closed them as we walked past.  The builders are continuing to wedge the entry doors open and leaving them so people can just walk in. We have been using the garage as well, these doors have been left open as well so we have been continually locking them.

The burglars have been kicking in the lower panels of the doors.  I don't know whether anybody else has, but we had a burglar alarm installed as part of our deal when we first bought our apartment, but I must say that I am still considering having grills installed, we have already had one put over the utility area because I thought that was the weakest point of entry, but having seen the lack of security around the blocks I am seriously thinking of having a grill fitted to the front door.

Hi guys, I'm in block 5 and one of the first things I did was get a grill fitted to the front door. Kicking in the bottom panel on the front door seems to be the entry method of choice. I wouldn't put alot of faith in an alarm being a major deterent. Alot of people just ignore in the area just ignore them when they go off. Physical deterents are the way to go! mike

I went through the builder's office. I think i paid about €250 including fitting. Can't be sure though. As far as i'm aware there is a place in formentera that manufacturers and fits them also.
