Hi everyone my name is Jim from block 3. been over last week the pavement outside our flats has been laid .the swimming pool and the lifts will not be in operation until the community is formed.

Some good news, but not for those on the top floor!  We are on the ground floor of block 1 and have been informed today that we can take over our apartment on 8th June, about time too, I don't know if there are already any residents in there.

Its Jim here, when l was over last week l met an old Spanish couple who are going to be in block one. Liz and l are over on the 10th June if you need any help or advice feel free to e-mail us. When we were over we went to the town hall and there is plans for a community sports centre with swimming pool across from your block.

Hi Jim,

We come out on 6th and stay until 17th, so there should be some opportunity to meet up.  We are in Block 1 (ground floor) as I said, at the rear, next to the pool.  We don't plan to stay for that long as we have a trip to see friends elsewhere booked for September, but we just have a few days we could come to Spain in October and I officially retire in November.  We plan our first long stay to be Jan - Feb 2008.  It's nice to know there will be some Spanish people in the block.  Thanks for the message and the offer and I guess we will be in the Spanish bar quite often if you want to find us of a lunch time.

Jim again did you know there is also an lrish bar in the complex next to the Spanish bar.  There is also another bar in progress   just now l think its another Spanish bar plus a supermarket getting built. That would be nice if we could meet up for a drink when you are over in June. We are hoping to move over in September permanento!!!!!!!!

Hi Jim

I'm Sandra, we have an apartment in block 2 ground floor, facing the road.  Was that correct about the swimming pool over the road from block 1?  That would be good for us as at the moment we are not sure which pool we will have the use of...got conflicting information.  I suspect there will be a charge to use it but can't see it being too much.

I don't suppose you have any idea when the development will be finished, not our area, further down near the Irish bar?

Hi Sandra,

                The information that we got from the town hall in Formentera is that it will be a community sports centre with pool something similar to the one in the village. This is free entry as our son has been using the facilities. As far as l know once you have registered your property with the town hall  [Padron] this entitles you to this benefit. As for the development near the lrish bar this completion is expected early next year.

Hi All,

So many replies that I don't know which one to answer!  We are flying out on 6th with a view to exchanging in 8th and we will be returning on the 17th to the UK.  It's really nice to see that some adventurous souls are planning to move permanently.   We plan to dip our toes in the water first.  Everything here is in a turmoil at present with all the travel and money arrangements to be made, but it's all coming together (I hope).

We are really looking forward to meeting you all and will haunt the bars for a while at least until we have come across everyone who has so kindly commented over the last few months.
