On another thread, someone said that they have the planning permission for the Hotel and plan to start work in 2 months, subject to no objections.
Can anyone verify this?
Perhaps one of you pretending to be a buyer but from Roda( Only joking!!!!!!!!)

As fae as I can make out, some people have had letter re planning permission so that they can object if they wish. This would be normal if building were to take place near you. I am not sure how long this process will take or when construction, if approval given will commence, but hopefully it is a positive step.

Hi yes i was in with customer services about permission for phase 4 when they told us that they had been granted the permission for the hotel but they had to wait 2 months before starting because the apartments in phase 1 can object to aspects to it , so hopefully nowone gets on their high horse and starts objecting to it ?

HI All
Since we are on Phase 1 I would be curious to see this letter and also what we could object to!! Not that I would as I am another that believes Roda Golf will go all the way and become the resort of the area - but it would be nice to see what is finally planned for the site etc.

Hi, we have just come back from Roda, and there is quite a lot of activity at the entrance of the hotel. All the lovely paving stones that were laid from the entrance of the complex right down to the start of the bridge have been lifted and new pipes are being laid, so it does not look very pretty as you drive from town to roda.We heard that work starts on the hotel in september!!!!!

Just got back from a great week at RODA. There seems to be some activity going on with the Hotel.
3 new air-condotioned portacabins were delivered and fitted. We we're leaving yesterday and they were bing plumbed in. The big gate lorry entrance for the Hotel was also being re-laid. all ready for lorries i presume.
Probably jumping the gun and no more activity for another 6 months.

I have just returned from a wonderful week at Roda (despite no movement on my Phase 4 apartment) and was told only yesterday by a young lady in customer services (didn't get her name) that the licence still has not been granted for the hotel despite the month for objections to the build having passed.

Hi Loretta
That's a little disappointing, but if the licence is not in the pipeline surely they would not be preparing the site, the entrance to the hotel works etc.
What is happening with your Phase IV - do they have any news at all for you - presumably this is a licence hold up as well? I assume they will only start this work when they have a few more sales under their belt -or is Phase IV sold out or nearly sold out?
It must be very disappointing for you as I know how excited we were in the build up to completion.
What do others think?
Sandra

Hi Sandra
The impression I got was that they expect the licence for the hotel soon, but, as she told me, this is Spain. There was certainly no activity around the hotel site while we were there.
As for phase 4, they have no idea when to expect the licence. Apparently the Town Hall now has all the paperwork and there is no more that Roda can do. It is now up to the new mayor to approve it; she was an English teacher and has to learn the ropes - to our detriment.

There won´t be any activity anywhere as it´s August and most of the Spanish are on holiday. As far as I am aware it is forbidden to any sort of outdoor building work in August. The same will go for the licence. The courts are closed, anything that is open will be running with a skeleton staff. Most of Roda staff aren´t here. Everything will reopen in September. Can´t emphasise enough how important August is to the Spanish, the beaches are heaving here.

we just returned on thursday from roda and were told on the wednesday that the licience to build the retail outlets had been granted.
this means that the restuarants, shops and bars will open before the hotel.
this is good news as the clubhouse is already busy with only really phases 1 and 2 using it so it should ease the burden when phases 3 and 4 are completed.
we were told completeion would be by end 2010.

Back fom roda today we have been told that no residents objected to the buiding of the hotel so planning has moved to the next phase and work should start in October or November Providing no more problems. They said that the work will be done in sections and the first thing will be a shop and as each section is completed it will open with the rest of the site fenced off this could mean some facilities open sooner rather than later.
