Just to put my 'five pennyworth' in, we agree with Bob in that we thought it may be possible to drive completely under the site via the car parks. 

I have a small favour to ask those that are going out shortly, would it be at all possible should you gain access to the site, to check out the underground car parks and see which entry points serve which blocks and if it is possible to gain entry via Vial B (Mercadona Road) and get across to Vial A? Also if you are able to you take some pictures of the access road that needs the re-surfacing and post them.  We would also like to have some more information as to why the generator is necessary at this point in time and why mains electricity is not available on site ready for the first occupation.  We have asked our solicitor all these questions and as yet still not received a reply!

If you are unable to do so, I quite understand and thanks in advance - it;'s just that I would feel happier with the information coming from someone who posts on this site and has seen the problems first hand.  Sorry to ask, we were thinking of  going down ourselves, but we are due to move on 9th September so things are a bit (well very) chaotic here.

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed  for a positive outcome!

Hello - I have been reading the message board for sometime now - as it is the only consistent form of communciation. I bought on phase 1 in 2003 and been waiting ever since. I have never felt the need to reply, until this link suggested a further 12 month delay - ours is in block 10 !!

We therefore rang the spanish solicitor on Fiday morning to find out the latest - she took the call and was very clear and concise on the latest - no mention of part habitation licence for phase 1 - in fact she still believes that licence in sept /  oct with completion on all phase 1.

I know you have all heard it before - but this particular thread is 'pretty dire' for half those concerned so I thought I would chip in - can anyone offer definitive information to the contrary ??

I spoke to my solicitor today instructing her that I wanted to cancel. I asked her if there had been any further news on the license situation. She said that the key personnel had been on holiday so nothing had been confirmed one way or the other. She is waiting now for them to get back to her re completion news and cancellations, of which she has now dealt with over 50!
I hope it's not too long now for those of you holding on. I am sure they'll get a wriggle on now they are coming back from holiday.

Alan this is very sad news. 

You have been my shoulder to cry on, as you know many times.  I am very sorry to see you leave us, who will I call now when I am having a bad Arenal Duquesa Day??  I respect your decision and hope that you purchase another property in the area and then we may have that drink and contiune the banter over the footie .   

I'll still be here. I will always keep a close eye on what's happening in Duquesa not sure what my future plans will be though regarding purchasing a property. I'll take some time out and review the situation. The real reason for pulling out of course is the poor start my team has made in the Premier League. Couldn't take the carping from you gunners! If they start to to turn it around well.. you never know I might change my mind!

Alan,   You have no idea what real suffering is.

I have not only been waiting since Oct 2003 for my apartment, but my team was Wimbledon FC.  As a former resident of Wimbledon, I followed them from the old Southern League on their tortuous path to the premiership.  Alas, they no longer exist, so I needed a new team.        I have always had an affection for Real Sociedad, having watched then a few times and I love San Sebastian, so they were my obvious new team.       Last season they were relegated !!!!!

And you think you've got problems !             I hope they keep Martin Jol as he is a great guy and Spurs are only supposed to win the FA cup anyway.      Real Sociedad have now signed Chris Coleman so there may be some hope !

Some good news for you, not on the apartment sadly, I have bought on phase two and I am a season ticket holder in the old east stand.

Jon, I can see now I shouldn't complain too much about my team you have put it nicely into perspective. Particularly as my Spanish team is Real Madrid. Having worked quite a few years in the capital they became my team.

I catch the train into London Bridge then the underground to liverpool street then on to White Hart Lane it takes about 1hr 20 mins. I was born in the East End and it was a 30 min drive in those days. As you know you cant help who you fall in love with as my wife often tells me.

Maybe if there is enough of us in the end we can start a duquesa branch of the THFC supporters club, should we ever get to move in.

I think it was a bad omen, the day we put a deposit down Malaga dropped out the liga like a stone. Shame we are not all able to watch the game on the 15th in Dequesa

I am not sure what to do yet. I will draw breath for a while and think about it. In the meantime I have been looking at other areas in Spain on the internet. Some good options or perhaps I should buy some more Spurs shares they are bound to rocket when the win the UEFA cup.
