Has anyone completed on this development yet?

We are in Block 3 and are due to complete TODAY!!!!  We are just waiting to hear from our solicitor.

How are the rest of you doing re: completion dates?

Hi A,

No problem at all!  Everything went through without a hitch on Friday.  We are now the proud owners of Calanova Sea Golf Apartment 3-2-3!!

We did the initial snagging report when we there in August, so now waiting to hear from our representative if these have been sorted, they are due to visit the property sometime this week.

Have you actually completed on yours yet, or do you know your date?

I expect to complete on 4th Oct. Did you have mains elec/water supply on completion or did the builders supply remain.

I will visit on the 10th to arrange the letting contract and make final "adjustments" to the apartment. Have you arranged property management for letting and key holding yet.

I am going out there on the 28 September and am taking a sky box with me so I will be able to test it out. I still need to get a sky card. Does I need to obtain that from Spain?

Andy - With regard to the electricity and water supply this normally takes a week to get that sorted after completion. You need to ask your lawer to arrange for temporary builders suppy. Its better done through your lawer to ensure you have a suppy when you complete.

 

 

Hi Surinder,

You can take both the sky box and card with you from the UK.  You not really supposed to use the cards out of the UK, but everyone does it.  I have heard that Sky are starting to cancel some cards that they think might have been taken abroad, but worst case you will just have to put another one in if that does happen.  I think they have better things to do than worry about stuff like that!

We are due to be going out mid October, so please can you let me know how you get on with your sky box when you get back?

the pools have not been filled and they are also not clean

The Pool in Block 3 is filled (as of last weekend -Sunday) and looked much cleaner (from a distance)  than the last time I saw it 2 months ago.

Anyone know whether the elevators in block 3 are working yet !

No ,the elevators are not working. Nor is the parking garage door. The pools in block 1 and 3 look clean

We arrived at the apartment on Thursday after collecting the keys, only to find we had not been given a key to the gate to enter the block. You dont actually need a key and we eventually discovered the trick. (PM me)

Our abogados had  arranged for the builders electrics to be connected. IT WAS NOT. 

We were not given a contact number for anyone at AJA and nobody from their office contacted us. I dont think AJA have a customer service dept. Our abogados contacted them and electicity was restored very quickly.

We have no A/C, the oven and hob have no power, no power to electical outlets,no lights in the master bedroom and many smaller defects.  Friday is a public holiday so it will be Monday before we can get them looked at.

However, the weather is beautiful and after the rain on Wednesday night the air is very clear and the views from the terrace to the Med are stunning.

After dark and after a couple of glasses of wine on the terrace everything seems worth the frustrations we have had.  Who needs an oven anyway.

Sorry to hear all this but it is usual to arrive to find nothing is as it should be! Don't feel you are the only one!

Also sorry to say that Monday is a holiday in La Cala too so you may struggle then also!

Hi Sorry to hear about your initial problems. I think  we,ll all go thru the same teething probs. We were misguided with our morgage deal and ended up paying considerably more than we were promised( Interest rates went up and no one informed us. We were told the initial figure was fixed for the first 6 month. wrong.)Anyone using a morgage broker should check at least 2 weeks before completion if anything has changed.(beware everything british). We completed 10th and hope to be out on 11th Nov Block 3-1-6 3-2-6 call in for a beer if you are about (may have to sit on the orange boxes. Gordon (Hendrix)
