I have been told that lighting and elevators will be available when the mains supply is connected. This should be in 3 to 4 weeks. You are correct you cannot rent your place until then. The communal areas are far from ready. The toilets blocks are locked and the keys will be handed over to the community when it is formed. The pools have no licence for use. I think we are a couple of months away from full services.

PS, dont forget to fit those window locks.

We are suppose to be completing tomorrow.  As we won't be going out to Spain for a while, our solicitors now want to charge us 174 euros just to open our property to allow an electrician in to install a meter.  Seems yet another ridiculous expense!  Is anyone else being charged like this?

We bought a pack of 4 locks from Leroy Merlin in the La Canada shopping centre and fitted them in about 1-2 hours.  So at least we have some protection on our apartment.  Just something for other owners to consider.

Hi
We have completed on apt 325 and are visiting between 12th and 16th November.

We have had a management agent snag the property and she says there are very few problems.

If anyone will be at Cala Nova between these dates perhaps we could meet up for a drink and discuss our future plans for the development -  rentals - satelite dish etc.

Regards

Br

A Meter ? you are getting a meter ? you lucky so an so.

Seriously, it is normal for the electricity company to charge for fitting a meter and if your lawyer has power of attorney then it is logical that she will settle on your behalf and claim it from you. As far as I know there are no meters fitted in athe apartments yet. Perhaps she is asking in advance.

You will find, when you get your final bill from the solicitor, that there are a few charges that can take you by surprise. Particularly the taxes and fees involved in the grant of a mortgage (assuming you have one). I was also charged an interim payment of 180 euros for community up keep. Did anyone else pay that???

Regards

Andy

Hi

The €174 fee( includes VAT) is for someone from your lawyers office to be present when the Sevellian Technitian comes to install your electricity, otherwise you would have to be available yourself in order to let him in.

In relation to the €180 fee it is for the community of owners setup fees - everyone pays this.

Hope this helps !!!!!!

Administrador de la Comunidad.

On the documentation that I received on completion, the above is listed as having tel number 952 588 670 with the name of Pilo.

If there is anyone in Spain, please call this number and found out what Pilo can do for us??

I have received notification from my abogados that they have signed the contact with the water and electricity company and are making an appointment to fit the meters.

Once block 3 has mains electricity they can get the lifts working.

Our client has an apartment on block 8, we met the electricity people last week to install the meter and there were fuzes missing out of the fuze box so no connection done. We were also advised it will not be done until January.

There is builders supply of electric so you can live in the apartments but still no lifts working.

We also have a client who is looking for a 3 bed penthouse to rent unfurnished does anyone have one they want to rent out ?

Debbiep
