Hi Michael

It would be great if you could get the actual room sizes for the Jardines apartments.  I was over on 21st Sep and asked then but they couldn't tell me - all they said was 'soon'........

Hope you enjoy the trip and if I am REALLY lucky, you may get a wee snapshot of Jardines 12 for me????

Have a great time.

Kind regards

Arlene Wilson

Mike,

Regarding your visit soon, I have been reading on this forum about the Jardines being ready late 2008 (?) but now some discussion on whether the shops and facilities in general will be ready at the same time. I would like for you to perhaps get some idea from PW as to when these will be up and running. The thoughts are that it could be another few years which doesn't bode well for people wanting to rent and nothing is ready.

Hope this is OK.

Thanks,

Phil

Per your note.  If you look at La Torre, El Valle and now Hacienda Riquelme all have opened the doors and allowed people to complete prior o services being available.  El Valle has nothing right now other than golf, a small clubouse and bar serving basic tapas.  Hacienda has nothing but people have started to complete.  Generally, the earlier you buy the quicker you comkplete when no servics is there and yes, rentals are very difficult to obtain outwith friends and family.  At least they run curtesy buses to other Polaris resorts and you must hire a car to get around.

Am pretty sure the small Foros area for the Jardines will be operational at the outset.  The Oasis will, I suspect, take a good while longer to complete.  Jardines is far too big a complex to open without the Foros facilities being available for dining out an basic food shopping????

I hope the Foro will be complete and Polaris will learn from mistakes, but look at El Valle, 690 houses, no supermarket current;y and none likely for a while... Property mangement companies are making a fortune from welcome packs! Make sure you take your tetley and nescafe, save your milk sachets from the airport too!

I think we are all thinking the same thing here. At least it gives people time to furnish the place and get used the place being completed a bit more each time we go back. Someone I know was in a similar situation along the coast and spent most of his time driving around the area and stopping off at small local towns. He found this quite good as he got to know some Spanish people very well and all the nice places to go, something that I never thought of and find quite good to do.

We're meeting with our agents on the evening of the 19th when they visit for a 'road show' on the 20th, we'll ask them what they think about the facilities being available on release of Jardines. We had our agents and a Polaris agent on our inspection visit and we were told Foro would open with 9 holes of golf when the 1st Jardines releases where made. They said the local council insisted these faciities were available for 1st releases.

Even then, I think esablishment of a resort will take a number of years

Hi all,

I've just returned from a week's holiday in Spain and hopefully can clear a few things up. A few photo's have been uploaded on this website but I have photo's of each Jardin so if anyone wants to know at what stage their's is then please send me a PM with their email address and I will send.

I visited both the site and Polaris World's customer services department

Date's for completion -

The site sales agent said that some of the properties would be complete at the current rate of progress by Sept 2008 although speaking to the customer services this was confirmed but by the time they obtain habitation licences more realistically would be the end of 2008 and the start of 2009 (which has been previously relayed to me by our solicitor) then you will get the snagging process. Although in an ideal world all the apartments would be finished together this is not possible they have said due to the quantities involved and would probably be handed over a Jardin at a time.  You will be notified about 5-6 weeks prior to completion for you to arrange to go out to have the apartment snagged.

Room sizes -

While at the customer services department I was handed a copy of the layout of my apartment, although it does'nt have any dimensions on it is to scale so will get my scale rule out and take dimensions off next week hopefully as well get it converted into an autocad drg. Will then publish the drg if possible. Sorry only could get the 2 bed apartment and not 3 bed.

Facilities on completion. -

Both the site agent and Polaris customer services were still a bit vague on this subject, they both stated that there will be something open but not sure to what extent as it is too early in the project, but due to the size of all the Jardines and nothing to hand locally they would expect somewhere to have some food & drink. Supermarket ???? Don't know if they will be one ready at the outset but noticed a new Consum supermarket a couple of miles down the road towards Mazarron.

Golf course -

At the moment quite a number of holes have been sculptured and just need finishing off but due to the time of year the site agent said they would not be seeding it till Spring next year so would not be ready for play until the year after. This will probably only be 9 holes to start with while building work still goes on local to the course.

Whilst speaking to the site agent we were asking about what's going to be built inbetween the Jardines and the golfcourse, he seems to think that they are going to be similar styled apartments to Los Naranjos penthouses in a horseshoe shape with pool in the middle but they will be a 6% price rise to Los Naranjos.

Hope I have answered a few questions

Mike

Ruthy,

I've also bought a 2 bedroom apartment and by overlaying the plan on a spreadsheet and working out the ratios I've estimated out the room sizes to be as follows: -

Living/Dining/Corridor: 18.8m2
Kitchen: 5.8m2 (2 x 2.9m)
Bathroom: 4.5m2 (1.9 x 2.35m)
Bedroom 1: 11.6m2 (4 x 2.9m)
Bedroom 2: 10.3m2 (3.55 x 3.05m)

Obviously they might be a few cm out, but I think they're a good estimate. Note that bedroom sizes include the built-in wardrobe space.

If you would like me to send a copy of the spreadsheet then send me a PM and I'll be glad to send it on to you.
