We are ground floor too Caroline, but all seems quite calm in DV - did not see anyone wondering about who should not have been there, ie gardeners, workman and we arrived at odd times and left likewise.
Hope to see you soon at Beccys?

Hi
We'll be out for a brief visit from 12th to 17th November so might be able to join in the visit. It would be nice to meet up with a few people, but unfortunately we don't play golf.

Hi Ann and John (and Mimmie and Jef and Greta) - maybe we could all meet at Beccy's for early drinks on the 16th? We arrive that lunch time so would prob bring the kids too and leave when they're tired. How about sixish?

Just to let you know I have had a break in. Blk 7 and access was gained via the adjacent balcony on the 2nd floor (unsold flat) , the front door of the unsold flat was broken down and they climbed onto our balcony and crow barrred the patio doors open. They broke into a locked safe where our guests had their valubles.

ohhh, thats awful.
I have emailed Rosa at AEA about the lack of security on site but had no reply in the last three weeks. Really, apart from the guard on the gate who is primarily there for the developers interests, we have no security on site. Does anyone have any ideas what we should be demanding from AEA or arranging ourselves to improve the situation.

All,
Just another thought on this one?
What's the chances that these thieves have a remote for block 7 underground?
That would explain how the get in and out so easily.
Park, hide in vehicle, wait for occupant to leave by car - so you can count them out.
Use lift from basement to remain unseen.
Taking goods (and safe) back down in lift and place into back of car.
Now exit the site by car with remote for main gate if needed.
Whow! Who is going to notice?
This could easily be done in day light.
Should we not have our remotes periodically reprogrammed to a new code?
It is not impossible that the thieves have a remote.
I have previously confessed to having lost mine on this forum.
It was left in a hire car at the airport.
When I got home and phoned up the hire car company to ask for it back they just laughed !!
If I remember rightly it had a sticker on it with Duquesa the block number.
Meanwhile the best remedy is to ensure that the thieves haul is severely limited. That way they
might come to recognise that they are wasting their time.
regards
Paul

We are buying an apartment on Coto Real and it's the same developer RYF, on our information it says wall mounted safes, I'm going to double check when I am out in Duquesa next week, and make sure they are not put on the floor, seems pointless having one if your broken into and they just can lift it out.
Sorry to hear of all these break in's, it's very worrying when your over here in England when it happens.

Hi Anna
Really sorry to hear about your break in. We're also on the second floor and while we were over in July, the people renting the next apartment to us got 'locked out' and thought they would be able to climb from our balcony to theirs, even though their balcony is set back. This has now got us worried and I think we'll have to resort to some locks even though we have a key holder checking our apartment each week.

Paul...like your ideas. and powers of detection..do you watch Columbo on day time TV? by any chance? (joke)
The possible hiding in the garage would suppose they know which apartment is occupied by a resident and they makes this Morse think that it is somebody who has this information or access to it. Are there any trends? It seems it is always an occupied apartment. They know when the person has left whether for the day or for a short time. Because some of the crimes are done when the person is away for a short time suggests that they have targetted somebody, watched them leave and then pounced.
What to do about it I dont know except be more vigilant and get more effective security.

I have just heard of another break in , don't know when it happened as it was only reported midday on Friday to the owner. Its in the same area as other break ins. This one was forced front door.
I wonder if when we are out in mid November should a few of us try knocking on a few doors and see if we have any residents likely to be using an apartment as a base to use for break ins. This sounds more and more like an inside job.
Resident, gardeners or builders.
We also need to speak to the police with AEA, John C I think you are going to see Rosa? Why not get her to call in the police at the start of your meeting so you can use her as a translator.
RyF need to be told that their front doors and patio doors are not of sufficient quality.
