Spoke with Gerrardo last night on a different matter and he mentioned the break ins. The point about additional security he is happy with but as it will increase the cost and the budget this year and beyond he would prefer the community to have the say on this ...understandable as he gets emails all the time about reducing costs.
One idea that I am looking at is decorative wrought iron door protecting my door or a door across the passage just after service cupboards. This gate would need to be paid by both parties , obviously, and designed to open fully to allow access with furniture for example.

John, they have these gates on on Coto Real, and it is much more secure, and it's the same builder RYN, some also have a wrought iron gate which closes right accross the balcony covering both lounge and bedroom, it doesn't look too bad and I know this will cost more but worth it I think.

I'm sorry I don't, but I will be getting them when ours is ready, they are in black and really do look ok. We have just been staying in phase one of coto real and a few in Khios block had them. Why don't you have a look the next time you go out. Why don't you ask someone in the sales office to take you up and have a look, you can see them from the pool. We were even chalenged when we went onto phase two to have a look at ours, three guys come running from different directions asking us to leave the site, but were ok when we said we were waiting on a rep from RYN to show us around, luckily the rep turned up as we were speaking, so I felt as if the security was really good.
We also drove up to DV and had a look around without anyone stopping us, so I would be really worried as you all are, hope you get something sorted soon.

Hi All
There was definitely a lack of security when we were in DV last week. The barrier was constantly 'up' even though Rosa sent me an email saying it would be locked in the down position from 6 pm each day. I was also told that car numbers would be taken and our's never was. We even wandered all over the site checking on the development of the other pools and there was no sign of any security. Also, when we arrived back in the Village after a meal out, the security guard seemed to be receiving 'male visitors' in his hut, each one carrying a bottle of some description!!! Not much secutity going on that night either I would suspect.
If the builders have broken the barrier then surely they should fix it as a matter of urgency.

You only have to look at the number of viewings that this thread has generated to understand how high this is on the list of priorities in everyone's minds. RYF should recognise this and hopefully respond swiftly on this matter. Prospective purchasers need to know that this matter is being taken seriously for them to consider investing here, so it should be in the developer's interest as much as owners to know that this is a secure development.

We recently completed on phase 3 DV certainly a lack of security we were not challenged on our various visits. Positive note the apartment looks good we did not pick up on any issues in respect of snag list
