We have just returned from completing on our Property on Phase 3, (Laurel 1) which we are pleased to report went very smoothly overall; furthermore, the weather was glorious - blue skys every day!
Snagging fairly minor, apart from the fact that the day after we completed we noticed huge damp patches on our ceiling & on further investigation discovered that when the apartment above us turned on their taps, the water poured straight through to one of our bathrooms, as their sink was fitted incorrectly. Thank goodness we visited & spotted this before too much damage was done!! The builders visited whilst we were there, identified the problem & confirmed that our ceiling would need replacing.
We were nervous re taking Polaris's word that they would fix this & had terrible problems getting Polaris to confirm in writing that they would deal with this problem as everyone wanted to pass the buck, nobody was prepared to put anything in writing & all they kept saying is that they couldn't do so as it wasn't on the snagging list, which obviously it wouldn't have been! Clearly there were already some disattisfied clients in Polaris's Portocabins & when we added to the noise; they eventually called the Manager, (when we had asked for the Manager previously, we were told the Manager 'is not here')! Anyway she was very helpful & we eventually left with our letter confirming that they would deal with this issue & any 'knock-on effects' - (we were concerned this could also affect our wall tiles).
Re kitting out our apartment - We visited numerous furniture stores & have to say that we were most impressed with Inside Right Espana on the Roldon Industrial Estate & Gareth (who dealt with us throughout) - was extremely friendly, helpful & not in the least pushy, which was very refreshing. He also had considerable patience as we made 4 visits before we did the deal & he never showed the slighest irritation when we tweaked our 'shopping list' several times before making our final decision. Overall we are delighted to say that we found Inside Right's levels of customer service to be exceptional & cannot speak highly enough of Gareth & all the staff that we met during our visits, who without exception were friendly & helpful & clearly enjoyed working at Inside Right. How rare is that these days!
Additionally, we found the standard of furniture packages & accessories to be of a high standard, just that little bit different , & great value for money overall. I do not tend to recommend firms lighly, but we were so impressed with Inside Right that even my husband admitted that sorting out our furniture package turned out to be an enjoyable & stress-free experience, which was a huge bonus as (like most men I imagine), he was dreading this!
We also found Electro-regalas in Roldon extremely helpful & reasonable re white goods & lighting.
