Hi all!

I was over at the beginning of december for the first time and attended the meeting regarding starting the community up, was told they were going to get some for quotes and that i would then be told about it so i can set up direct debit ect, can anyone enlighten me please on what is happening with this now?? I have now rented the property out but will be coming over in june time next. How is everyone finding it out there and how is the other development opposite coming along? Thanks Darren

See my post about a meeting today. I'm of the impression that the administrator has made all the decisions - we've certainly got a cleaner doing the corridors etc.

Let's hope all becomes clear after today... IF WE GET ANY FEEDBACK!!!!!!

There was a notice on our block mailbox asking for contact details for the administrator, but as I'd already e-mailed them several times and got no reply, I doubt if it will make any difference.

We had the meeting on Thursday and despite waiting in block 1 corredor for 20 minutes for the administrator to turn up and a very slow presentation with innumerable "examples" we got the figures for 2008.  I cant remember all the numbers offhand, but the costs will consist of a one-off payment to cover costs so far and a years buildings insurance, and then a figure that will cover future costs inc insurance monthly.  They will be writing to all of us, but if you want to know what the figures were (roughly the same for blocks 1 &2) PM me as I don´t want to put them in an open e-mail.

Hi All

I have noticed to 2 debits on my account for 33 euros. I assume that is 1 for me and one for my wife. They are marked Cuota! Can anybody tell me what these are for and whom I have paid?

Who do i email to set up everything to do with the community costs then please?? someone email me!

the administrator will be sending everyone a letter detailing what they need to pay and the bank details.  We are out here at present, and have asked him to email us our info, but where he has your home address he says he is going to send a letter there and the rest to their Spanish address.  Will try to keep you informed.

Hi Everyone,

Mike and I are now back from our 7 weeks in Spain. We arrived home at about 10.30 last night (boat was late again!)

We haven't forgotten about updating you all on  the community fees BUT we still haven't heard anything!!!!! We did hope that we could sort it out whilst we were there but no such luck.

Weather was really lovely during most of March although we did have some strong winds at times.

ps Christine and Geoff we haven't forgotten to pm you but our tv system hasn't been too good so we didn't want to recommend them to you. The after sales service is even worse and despite many phone calls they did not come out. Hope we can get to meet up again in September.

Hi Mike and Gloria nice to hear that you had some good weather whilst you were there, not so good about the TV, hope you can get it sorted.  We are fairly near to completeing now, just keeping fingers crossed that the exchange rate imporves before we hand over the cash!  Hope to see you both in September if you are there.

I'm not surprised that we've not heard from them. I sent them e-mails and faxes back in October and still haven't had a response. While the money's in our accounts I'm not going to chase them!

I just look forward to the time when we can organise ourselves and ditch the administrator!

Hi Irene & Alan.

I think the laid back, "let problems flow over me - tomorrow will do" attitude is inherantly Spanish and why lots of people love to live there.  Those of us who have lived by the "do it now!" culture prevalent in Northern Europe can find the  adjustment very difficult.  I have returned to work 3 days per week and in just 2 days have cleared the huge backlog built up whilst we were away (there has been someone else working on it while I was away as well) and have found the experience invigorating.  Am I not suited to Spain I wonder?  Still as you say, whilst we have the money in our bank accounts, that's their problem.

Just to let everyone who hasn't received an email know that the administrators have started sending out the community bills. We received ours yesterday.

Have spent some time trying to understand it but have emailed GWS for further clarification!

The first instatment is due on 15th April which we intend to pay. We hope for a better explanation before the next is due in June. The monthly amount is higher than we expected from the meeting and we really can't see how its made up. We know that the amount will differ due to location, size etc of apartment and our escritura  gives a percentage figure that we are responsible for. BUT even taking all that into account  and adding up the figures we are a lot above the 'average'.  We added up 8932.15 Euros and 3072.40 (pool maintenace) and divided by 31, the number of apartments in Block 1. The average seemed to be about 32E per month( the figure mentioned at the meeting was under 38e per month) We have been asked to pay 160.05 per quarter which works out at 53e per month. What we need to know is why ours  is so much higher than 'average'

We have been trying to e-mail you since our return to Bristol, but we have had no success with the address you gave us.

Hope your are both well. Although it is only a few weeks, it seems so long ago that we were in spain that  we are already looking forward to our return and with luck we will meet up again.
