I am purchasing on Corvera and I know there are many purchasers on Roda who are up and running their renting business. I was wondering if anyone could help me finding someone locally in Murcia who deals with tax returns. Could someone also explain how the system works, how records are kept and how these are co-ordinated with a self-employed tax return in the UK. Why are there sooooooo many things to think of.
Thank you, Anita.

Can anyone help on the following Tax questions please.
1. Has anybody had an IBI tax bill yet? (the spanish equivalent to our council tax) if so approx how much is this per year, I have been told this could arrive up to 3 years after purchase.
2. I have been told you need the Valor Catastral market value figure to work out your La Renta Tax, but my solicitor tells me I will not get this for maybe 3 years after purchase. If this is the case how do you calculate La Renta tax now? as I dont want a massive bill after 3 years.
I have also been told somtimes your management company pay this through their own taxes, is this true?
These bills go only to your Roda address and not your UK address. Last time I was at Roda everyones mail was in a huge pile in customer services so could be lost forever and you would not know you were being chased for this money.
Any help appreciated. ( I have sue chesters guide on paying taxes by the way).
Rory.

I gave up and decide to use Fuster Associates located in Los Alcazares. They are located in the Edifico Building (1st Floor) same side as/but before you receive El Patio.
Good luck in soting this out.

Hi though not an expert in this matter I have lived in Ibiza for five years before coming to the mainland and this is my fourth Spanish property that I have bought. As far as my experience goes I have paid the IBI only when I sold the property for a number of reasons. The property I bought and subsequently sold was new and the Spanish authorities are notoriously slow in settting this tax. I really wouldn´t worry too much about it, it was never an extraordinary amount, off the top of my head something like 175 euros per year. Frankly it isn´t or wasn´t in my case pursued by the townhall anyway, but obviously needs to be paid up in full should you sell. Hope this helps.
