€145.00   solicitors fees

Total     €557.50   OUCH!!!!!

Im unclear on what the wealth tax is, would someone mind explaining this to me,

The wealth tax is calculated on the percentage of property you own in Spain. so if you own 100% in Spain you will be taxed 100%,

but if you have a spainish mortgage they will deduct the amount you owe from the total cost of property and tax you on the reminder. 

It must be paid by September every year, if not the spainish Gov. WILL fine you and you will pay fine also taxes so sort it with your solicitor as soon as possible.

I really appreciate your response, does a solicitor have to act on your behalf or can we do this ourself, as i suppose the solicitor will charge a high fee for this?

Yes you can do it yourself and there are books etc on the subject, (check out the general forum)  but as I work full time here in Ireland I just would not have the where with all to get my head around it .

so that is why I am paying a solicitor. But I am sure if you shop around I am sure you will find a cheaper solicitor.
