Hi again James & Jo

We are also going to need help on that one, but our friends have just moved to Cyprus, and broadband there is apparently hugely expensive and so a definite No-No.   They have opted instead for Skype phone which they reckon is brilliant.  Not sure how this works other than I know you have to have a computer as well as buying a Skype phone.   Anyone out there a bit more knowledgable on this?  

Obviously this won't solve the TV problem, but at least maybe we'll learn Spanish quicker that way if we can't get the UK channels!

We are out there on 2nd June for our first real holiday, so hopefully will meet you at long last.  Good luck with completing.  A stressful time and don't forget to take the bottled water to the Notary's office.  The one in Torrevieja didn't have any and we were there for about four hours.  (I did manage to 'borrow' half a cup though LOL).

While I'm here - just like to give Carol and Danny a public Good Luck Message - fingers crossed for their completion next week.

Now I'm completely disconvovulated (my new word)!

This is an extract from our friend's email:  "By the way, we and all the family are on Skype, its a great way to stay in touch. As is the case over here telephone lines are a real luxury, so wireless broadband is the way to go, Skype is free to download and free from computer to computer, the sound quality is great, if your not on yet have a look at it, our skype name is............"

I suppose (s'cuse ignorance here) it means that you still pay for broadband but not a telephone line, is that right?  If so, that's probably cheaper than having a phoneline as well, as long as you can get  all your family and friends to go down that route too.    Anybody any idea of costs on that one?

Also, a bit 'disconvov'd' here too, because if it's that good why are we still paying for telephone lines?

I know now why my sister has enjoyed being a technophobic!  Ignorance sheer bliss!  LOL
