It was fantastic and i do so hope everyone on here continues their dream of coming to Spain regardless of whether its still their property in Jumilla or elsewhere.

Words cannot describe last night (Linda help me here!) and i can now see why people go on so much about winning the World Cup in'66, although i was around but barely 3yrs of age. To be a part of a 'winning' country is an amazing sensation and I do so hope it happens to England, Scotland or Ireland (maybe wales) one day. the main difference is the support, soooooo passionate over here and dont put the pressure of expectation of the negativity on the team before a ball has been kicked.

Many of the bars had big screen but the bar we go to, PFB,  and the one GAL mentions is typically spanish with just a small tv screen perched in the corner. All these people sitting crammed together watching, shouting, swearing......and then the men joined in. Even though we're not Spanish nationals, we're recognised as locals and they treat us as one of their own, again something that doesnt really happen in old blighty too often. 

So it was party, party, party......in fact as I write this, it's still going on and I'm sure will be for a few days to come. I have one hell of a hangover but was worth every moment getting it and hope you all enjoyed it back home. Only just managed to drag myself out of bed.  I have a headache and I think my eardrums are burst.  Got home at 5 this morning. I am also so wonderfully happy for Spain and its people. 
The noise in the streets was incredible all night.  They did not let up.  People driving round and round, sitting on top of cars waving huge Spanish flags, tooting horns, singing and dancing in the streets, bangers and crackers exploding everywhere.
Must admit I thought, would never be allowed in UK not orderly enough .  A lot was drunk but I still cant figure out  (after being here all this time) why they dont get out of control.  Theres no fighting and falling about and ending up in police cells for the night.  They just are happy drunk and everyone joins in from the oldest to the youngest including babies in prams all decked out in Spanish football kits. I even saw a rabbit being carried by a young girl with knitted Spanish kit on.  I was around for the '66 world cup Darren and remember it well, I was around 16, I still remember where I was and what I was doing, great day, great night but I think the feeling is different here somehow more spontanious or maybe I am more observant.  I really dont think the locals here expected to be lifting the cup at the end of the night.  The tension was almost unbearable.  Apparently (whoever works it out, god knows) but for the semis 84% of people watching TV in Spain watched the match so what was the figure for the final.

What an amazing night it was.  Luis Aragones nearly 70 getting the bumps from his team and I thought he was going to have a heart attack several times during the week (and King Juan Carlos jumping up and down. Couldnt  have been good for his health either).  He had so many top class Spanish players to choose from he almost had 2 first teams. All so young with years left to play. Torres , Fabrigas, I think Guiza and someone else, who's name escapes me at the moment, all play in Premier League but in the main the team all play in Spanish clubs although I think that may change in the near future, mores the pity. 

Spain never lost a match throughout and nearest they came to it was the penalty shoot out with Italy.

I went to Germany in 1988 to support England in the Euro's.....we lost!  I was in the crowd with Holland fans, later with some russian fans and me and me mates mingled with all national supporters around Germany, this was at a time when England Fans were supposed to be the scum of Europe.  

We enjoyed ourselves in big crowds immensley and we made friends everywhere we went.  However the papers at home seemed to find pictures of so called riots, which i believe to this day that they started themselves to sell papers!!!!  Even the german and dutch people were amazed by our newspaper stories....so dont believe all you hear about our supporters.

I want to win a tournament like Spain did......well done Spain, brilliant

Ahhh!!!! Football brings out the best in all of us good to see the N332 main road from Valencia to Malaga was very very busy last night Sunday is usually the quietest of all days on that particular road. We live a few metre from it , Darren however is no more than 5 mtrs well he did get the biggest apartmento !!!!

The fireworks over Orihuela Costa were tremendous too
